The Technics az100 are here. Initial impressions are that the sound signature has a heavy mid bass with mellow highs. Az80 has a wider soundstage, probably due to its acoustic chamber, which I believe the az100 do not have. The tips are proprietary with 2 protrusions which fit into the 2 notches on the earbuds nozzle. ANC is pretty good, no wind noise. Wearing comfort is good, the earbuds body are quite slippery. The app has many options to set the controls, ANC options and ability to set 3 custom EQ settings.

Size comparison between pi8, az100, az80 and wf-xm5.

So the tips are different that the AZ60/80 model?

I have owned AZ70/60/80 in the past. It sounds like the 100 straddles the 60 and 80 for mid-bass, would that be about right?

@boodi

I just did some side by side with aviot pnk vs cowboy bebop. Pnk has better build and looks better imo. Cowboy bebop is a bit more dynamic, and had more sub bass when anc is engaged. I personally find the latter more engaging. The pnk is a bit more neutral to my ears, similar to the rex5. Rex5 is a good set but reads very neutral. For my genre (hardcore, metalcore, punk), I find the aviots to be more musical than rex5, and I find CB more musical than pnk, but I think a little EQ handles that difference, as it isn't huge.

Was quite hard to understand which one as both got stellar reviews
Hopefully PNK is the right match for me , hope so

I think 3rd party war tips should be doable on the oval nozzle. There's a picture of the tip and the nozzle in the link below. The notches make the tips attach very securely to the buds, it's quite difficult to remove the tip from the nozzle.

Thanks I had seen the 3 layered style ear tips in the reviews but not the actual nozzles, at least the grooves are not in the actual nozzle which can make other ear tips slack or lessen the seal for ANC, the Moto Buds+ have ridges (the ear tips are grooved) on the actual nozzle making it awkward to fit some 3rd party ear tips.

Probably outright better tips to be found for the AZ100 but anyone try the stock tips comparing foam in vs. foam out yet?

Yea the part where the tube of the tip attaches to the nozzle is different. The az100 has an oval shaped nozzle with 2 notches to prevent the tip from being spun around when adjusting.

After a few hours of burn in, the sound has opened up. They sound very organic. Switching between pi8, az80 and wf-xm5, the mid-high to highs sounds uncontrolled and splashy on them, but sounds very well controlled and refined on the az100. Soundstage is also very good and not over exaggerated, instrument placement is on point, pans in movies are also realistic. The bass... it's hard to describe, it has a quality which I've never heard of before. The bass is not fast, it sounds fluid and smooth, probably due to the magnetic fluid in the drivers. The bass is not sloppy. The bass quantity can be a bit overpowering, I turned the left most slider in the app's EQ down 2 notches which suit my taste better. Overall a joy to listen to.

Sorry, I’m probably being thicker than usual… that looked to me like a description of the product, not the name of a product. The link does not work for me.
My error in the link....sry. Happy to answer any questions if i can.

Found this listing.....looks like the same device for @30% less : ( It's also sold on other Chi-Audio websites.

**IF buying and want English you must specify in notes in the order AND send a message requesting, immediately after placing the order.

Yea the notches are in the bud's body and not on the nozzle itself, so third party tips should be able to fit.

I'm surprised by how much I like the AZ100. Best of the bunch imo. Had no idea the tips was proprietary. I swapped to some AZLA SednaEarfit MAX ASMR tips and they're doing great. I haven't had one issue with the buds. I do prefer the sound of the PI8, liked the clarity and bass better, but the AZ100 are no slouch at all and worth it. Talk to me in a few weeks.

Would you be able to elaborate on the differences in the bass you observe between the AZ100 and the PI8? Thank you for your impressions!

Manu thanks. How would you compare the AZ100 with the B&O EX soundwise?
