I ended up not needing the transmission feature on the PI8 case on my flights earlier this week. Bluetooth on the in-flight entertainment system of the Airbus A321-NEO (operated by Delta) worked really well with both the PI8 and Px8. This is where having an app is nice because it was really easy to remove the paired device in the B&W app on my phone after each flight. Hopefully this becomes more widely available if it is not already.
I wish my EVA air flight has bluetooth capability for their in-flight entertainment system. Would have been really useful for a 12+ hours flight.

You have lucked out, my friend. I have set far too much money on fire due to bad recs. Mostly wired stuff from bigger names, ie900, fibae 5, campfire cascade, and others. I've grabbed some great stuff as well: hifiman he 6 se 2, ier z1r, thieaudio monarch and Prestige, dx320.

It's a crap shoot, so if I can help others learn from my errors, I want to: like don't buy the pi8. It's objectively mediocre and overpriced. It's downgrade from the xm5 or az80.
There is nothing objective about your statements and, in my opinion, your post would be much more meaningful and productive if you acknowledged that yourn statements are based on your subjective opinions based on your personal persectives and perception of sound. You are entitled to your opinions and are free to express them but it would be nice if you were a little more respectful of the opinions of others as well.
Thank you....this guy talks like he has a doctorate in TWS! Me thinks he doth protest too much.

We have definitely hit a plateau with buds right now What we're getting is trickle down tech to the sub $100 space Everyone seems to be trying for open buds as well because of this hardware stall

Yeah atm it just feels like new tunings and flavours.

I think brands need to focus on getting a very nice sounding single dd with a stem for electronics. Use a full sized shell for a single DD, airpods pro 2 style.

I havent heard a tws that js dramatically better than airpods pro 2. Better sure, but not a new paradigm. Apple isnt great with audio but the app2 design is peak tws imo.

Its why nothing ear sounds so insanely good for the money. I just saw a video of DMS saying he thinks nothing ear 2 is the best tws you can buy, and nothing ear 2024 sounds even better...I think for the foreseeable it will be my only tws alongside app2. Everyone else is just playing with tuning, which I can do via EQ anyways.

Id say Noble are the exception, but theyre pretty chunky boys and lack the features i want so see them.more as wireless iems than app2 alternatives.

So I currently have the CA Melomania Touch. Quite like the sound and I dont use TWS a lot.
However the one thing I find with IEMs is they tend to move about in my ear too much, even after I take a lot of time to get the fit right. My Andromeda do the same.

So after a bit of research I am considering going to a stem type of model as they should be more stable in my ear. I was just going to go for the Apple Airpods Pro 2 (well whatever the latest ones are called ) as they will work flawlessly with my Iphone. However I have decided to come on here and seek a bit of guidance.

I also quite fancy the Pi8......as I love my PX8, but again I would imagine I would have similar issues.

Do the stem models help with this or is it just something you have to put up with when you go for in ears?
If stems do make a difference should I be considering something other than the APP2

Be careful with the Pi6, they sound wonderful for the price but have some weird connection issues outside when on the move, more so than the Pi8 for some reason.

I'm of the mind that you don't have the right tips. Could just be the size.

Real happy with this pairing.

Listening to them both side by side, it's amazing how close the Nothing are to the Pi8 after the personal customisation and a little tweaking. It lacks that full body sound of the bowers but very close at a third of the price. Would def be my pick for anyone looking for a cheap-ish great sounding set with good feature set. This pairing is great for me, because it means I don't need to take the Pi8 and get them all sweaty in the gym, rock climbing or on the run - but still get a similar sound during those activities. Pi8 if travelling or at home. I think I haven't touched my Senn headphones (which I usually use at the laptop when working) since getting them.

What the consensus on the spirit 10? Game changing or not so much?
DHRME has a good review:

Tier B ANC, Tier A Transparency, quiet volume wise, neutral bass, high / somewhat metallic on treble, mediocre battery life, and mic quality is also just okay.

To me it doesn’t seem like a $300 product. Maybe at half the price.

I picked up the Sony pulse Explorer’s for under $200. These too have planar’s (Audeze), and I made sure there was no ANC onboard. These are the best sounding TWS I own, but they’re not good in a noisy environment. There are much better mobile options. Why go through all the R&D to shrink a planar down to fit in a small TWS, then cripple it with NC??
