Thus far the AKGs are the real deal. ANC is above average, and I forgot all about the dongle. I plug it in and get Hi Res from Tidal, no worry about my codec. Give me another day and I will post some more.

Like the BT Dongle for the JLab Epics, the USB side as Hi Res (24/384k AFAIR) by default but I changed it to 16/44.1 as pointless as LC3 Codec is not Hi-Res.

I would assume it is same here with LC3 being used (is the Dongle 2.4GHZ BT or WIFI?) and possibly they can update the Dongle at a later date.

EDIT: Is it using LC3+ ?
That’s all I needed brother. Ordered.
Where did you find them as I tried last night (I did an "all nighter" for Amazon Prime but not much there for me)?

I posted a pretty detailed/decent review from YT a few pages back.

The JLab Epic Lab Edition's dongle actually uses Opus Codec, according to a JLab software engineer.

gonna pull the trigger on a pair of samsung buds 3 pro. For those that have like an old pair of buds pro lying around, Samsung is offering $100 trade in value. Use the samsung shop app and you can save an additional $50, which knocks the final price down to $100.

Pretty sure most Android phones from at least 2016 had LDAC (dependant on the model/tier and Android version), I had the last Motorola built phone the Moto X (Gen2) now it is Lenovo built and IMO not the same quality.

Wow! Anyone have thoughts on how they compare to the Technics AZ-80?
I have the AZ_60's, along with B&W, Sennheiser, Sony, Bose...etc. Now these are IEM's, and I use them strictly wired, although the do come with
a Bluetooth behind the ear device (older tech). With the Bose tips I get an excellent seal, and they are far better than my TWS sound wise. I
haven't tried the Bluetooth option, and I'm sure they'll suffer the limitations like all the other compressed Bluetooth devices. I have read that the
Bluetooth is decent on them, but sorry I don't know what decent means here..

Well, no. Try 27%, which is the global market share for ios in June 2024.

So 63% can use high-res codecs from their phones without a dongle. You're welcome.
I didn't ask your opinion. Over 50% in the US and since I'm American, that's all I care about anyway. (Note: that's sarcasm). The dongle serves more purposes. Presumably it's more stable than other high res BT codecs although I will test that. My point, before I was crap on, was that it's a nice add on by AKG to add value to the product. For iphone users, it's really nice. For android users, it's still nice.

Thanks, this is very helpful! I have a pair of Decas that I use wired, so I'm looking for the highest-quality Bluetooth sound I can get. I think I'll go with the AZ-80s then.

Sure. I like how you capitalized Status Simple for effect. You are very persuasive. I am putting my iPhone up for sale now as a result of your Jedi mind tricks.
Yes indeed! I'm doubling down on buying Apple stock. Thank you Steve for me being able to buy TWS without too much (self-inflicted) worry about spending $$.

Have you tried phone call quality in both quiet and loud environments?
