Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?

For what it's worth, I'm pleased with my WF1000XM4s if I have to go wireless. Sure, they don't sound as great as my wired IEMs, but the ANC and convenience are worth it. I am pondering getting one of those TWS adapters such as the FIIO UTWS3 or the KZ AZ09 Pro.

I think the main difficulties are:
1. TWS basically takes over most of the audio-related player functions from your DAP, so instead of a full size PCB with arrays of quality (i.e. big) caps and resisters in your DAP we have to settle with a miniature PCB with generic off-the-shelf tiny, integrated chips coupled with tiny (i.e. inferior) electrical parts fitted in your TWS to do everything from conversion to amplifying, restricting the possibilities of audio goodness
2. No matter how capable the driver/drivers in a TWS are, the coupling space is too small for better coupling chambers or air flow management machanisms.
Different animals. Finely tuned acoustic chambers vs heavy DSP + electronics, batteries and control swipe/buttons. Also with the tendency to further miniaturize, even more DSP will need to be applied..

Why you gotta show me this? Now I'm definitely buying it at all costs.
Maybe you'll get some Xmas $$$ if you were good this year. :santa:

Thank you all for the feedback and reccos - I def thought about the losing factor - but didn't realize how big of a deal the ear infections are or the tendency to use at too high of a volume. I have worked very hard to avoid having kiddos, so I admit I'm a bit of the out-of-touch with what-ages-mean-what uncle.

I actually had stumbled upon two of these recommendations on Amazon - and with y'alls endorsement I feel pretty good about them from a safety/good purchase perspective. Thank you all!

Hey everyone, looking for a new pair of tws.
I've narrowed my choices to the following
1. Technics eah-az80
2. Final Audio ZE8000
3. Noble Audio Mystique

Open to more recommendations but looking for sound quality mainly. Currently have the buds 2 pro and momentum true wireless 3 but want something more.

Mystique and Final would be the ones for SQ. But I'd be choosing the MKII ZE8000 over the original as it goes louder which was the only reason I returned the original.

Other sq options would be Mont blanc, Devialet and Denon PerL.

But if it's accurate playback you want then probs skip the DPP and the Devialet (they are more extremely fun than extremely accurate).

As the open ear style onslaught continues Soul gets on board with a bunch of models. The S-Free look decent and 17 hours a charge is pretty good.
