Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?

My Buds 2 pro arrived today.
Between the best firmware from January, a Samsung phone to get the hi res codec, hearing test adjustment on the phone and apple music with Dolby Atmos on on the phone and wow!

Compared to my AZ60 the sound is tighter. Has great sub bass but no bloat. The mid and treble range are great. Leads to great separation and wide sound stage with Atmos on.

Pleasantly surprised. Had a brief go with them couple months back but did not have a hi res source and latest firmware also changed the tuning a bit.

I can see why Crinacle rates them so high (his best tws for sound).

@dweaver if you have option to listen to yours on hi res source with your Galaxy phone using Atmos and find the sound quality test on the phone you will thank me later!

As I bought a used JVC HA-FW1000T 2 weeks ago on amazon.co.jp.. I am really very pleased by the sound quality. It's, by a big margin, the best TWS I own.
But I am quite disappointed by the real life battery playing time :
=> AAC/No ANC/No K2, with less than 2 meters far from the Smartphone => I get max 7h45 minutes
=> APTX/ANC on/K2 on, with less than 1 meter far from Smartphone => I get something more or less like 3h15 minutes..
Can some users confirm these figures with their sample ?
As there is still a Drop 149$ offer, I really wonder if should buy a brand new one to expect nearer a 9h playing time with AAC codec and 4 hours or more with APTX/ANC On/K2On ?

Huawei not getting much love here.

I have been cabled for a time during work trying out some entry level IEMs. The Moondrop DSP has been nice for this since it's USB and has a mic.
What I noticed is that the sound is very similar to the Huawei Freebuds Pro 2. Both has Harman type of tuning, not my personal favorite of tuning. The treble is so close to the same I can not hear the small FQ difference.

The sun bass has a stronger impact in the Freebuds, while the mid bass is better showed in Quark's DSP

This has also been the set that has endured for longest time on construction sites, with a clear Mic so other can hear me trough all the noise. 6 months use now.
Anker,Sony, Bose, Jabra, Samsung and Sennheiser sets has all let me down. Specially with microphones being bad from start or getting unusable after a few months use.

Have two coworkers also having it now after they complained so much about their last TWS. Both are happy and has had no problems.

I have 2 negatives on the Huawei, tips. The same oval tips as apple buds, not very comfortable for me.
Other is that the ANC falls behind the likes of Bose or Sony.

And a third but it's very personal as I prefer more mid bass energy.

So if you are a person who likes the Moondrop Quarks DSP and want TWS that performs great go for the Huawei Freebuds Pro 2
I like everything about them except the fit. Did you find any third party tips that improved it? I used the Feaulle H370 for a while, but the very slim bezel around the nozzle means they don't grip on particularly well

Stock tips + some clear ones I got trough AliExpress. The clear ones where more sticky, the oval type of nozzle is a stupid design. since the apple buds have them Huawei is trying to copy😅

Still the sound of planar + DD in the Huawei do sound very good to be TWS.

As for comfort, 100s of hour of use had made my ears get accustomed to it

The Freebuds Pro 2 have some of the best treble out of my TWS collection. They sound really good but wish they were a bit louder

I had them briefly and sound was ok, good actually. But battery life was short and needed a work around to get LDAC working.

Prefer sound if my AZ60 and now buds2 pro who have better treble and cleaner sound IMHO.

I added the orange foam (slightly shortened by cutting) underneath the original silicone stock.
The fit improved, as well as the noise cancelling and bass!

I'd love to see a Sennheiser TWS with the driver of the IE600, the form factor of the MTW3 with just a slightly better ANC and a slightly smaller case, and slightly better battery life. With all the Apt X codecs support. I'd pay good money for that.

Or a hybrid wireless by Dunu that mimics the 3001 sound.

That would be something, but rather closer to 1k usd I guess

Giving the JBL Live Free 2 a spin this week. Wanted small buds for sleeping. First impression, wow, JBL has really improved their ANC tech. JBL has come a long way from their awful offerings a few years ago. These sound good. $99 from Best Buy. ANC, Transparency, wireless charging, EQ, Find My Buds and Multi-Point.
