It's not the phone dude... I use S24 there's nothing wrong with the codecs, it has 5x as many as any iphone and LDAC works just fine
In my experience LDAC isn't stable on highest bitrate 990 compared to e.g. ancient LG V30. No higher bitrate of aptX codecs (HD, LL, Adaptive, Lossless), no LHDC, etc.

Hi,

need an advice from fellow Senn MTW4 owners. Just given a pair for my ex MTW3 which died under warranty. I found MTW4 to be much more dynamic with greater definition to the sound, but they sounded very in your face and shouty with something like grattling (abbrasive?) character to the sound. Do they start to sound relax after some break in time? Mine are played about 50 hours til now.

Many thanks.

I looked into it and you're right, I have the S24 ultra and seem to have APT X basic only. As far as LHDC goes I can't find many phones that have it, looks very niche.

LDAC is the one I use the most and seems to work for me at 24 bit/96khz. I had to use some developer options though like UHQ music and music resolution upscaling I think it was called.. Very disappointing from Samsung, thanks for pointing this out

I have the both the single and dual driver versions. Both sound good, frequency response is the same but the dual driver version has a little more detail in the treble.

They are quite deep fitting, so good isolation, but not necessarily the most comfortable. As Jan said, battery drain on the case is unfortunate and they are very finicky with usb cables (anything usb-c to usb-c won't charge them)

I would expect opposite, they are like audeze of iems, no upper mids. That may have changed with ie600 however.

I had MTW3, and sound was all smoothed out that it was hard to hear well for vocal stuff like podcasts.

I'm not sure how good scalable coding from samsung is, the term sounds like it's adaptive and varies the bitrate.

I've used the SSC codec before and it's basically flawless at 24 bit/96khz to my ears. Can't say the same about the buds 3 pro tho

Samsung never again - Literally Inexistent Support or Escalation process

So really miffed about my experience in returning my 2nd Galaxy Buds 3 Pro pair. After enjoying my initial pair of a silver Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, bought a pair for my son, who uses a iPhone so wasn't excited about receiving the White Buds 3 Pro, so the next day I take them to the local Fedex center, full packaged, and no seals broken on the buds 3 pro package or the free case. After I few days I receive a Video showing they received an open package (bottom), with the cases but no Buds 3 Pro, and guess what even the seal of the Buds was inside :frowning2: (fotos below), this was beginning of October 2024, since then I've opened probably 5 tickets, and every time the response was: Samsung didn't receive the Galaxy Buds so no refund would be issued.
Yeah but then what about the Fedex Claims process? Yeah they said I could do that, so there I went attached the fotos, description, value etc, and after a few days they responded: only Samsun HQ could file a claim, since they paid for the shipping.
So there I went back to Samsung tried all the escalations, supervisors etc, and request was sent to a special team! The response, very same, since they didn't receive the buds, no refunds would be issued. Wait did they even check the videos/fotos? Guess not, or it's a scheme by Samsung employees to siphon off customers :frowning2:

For me, no more Samsung ever, and I have the Flip 6, Fold, Galaxy Tablet, the Frame etc... but after this I honestly do not trust this company for even a cable.

These are a pain but interesting… TINY.

Supposedly listening to Aptx Adaptive via my PI8 with my iPhone 16 PM. Pretty pretty pretty cool.

I wonder if this would be compatible with a Walkman running Android. It would give me a newer version of Bluetooth.

Although I don't see it available anywhere in Europe.

Aliexpress. You might need the Fiio app, but I don't see why not. Not sure it's worth the trouble though. YMMV.
