Of course, in my opinion, you really can’t beat the Apple for outstanding ANC and calls and the overall integration of the package. It’s quite excellent, I just wish the sound was more dynamic, rich, and airy. (I don’t really speak review lingo)

Any thoughts appreciated.
As an avid APP2 user, the Pi8 are so much more engaging, full and dynamic. Just another class entirely.

I got the Az80 for a while now and together with a set of JBL LIVE Pro 2 is all that I need for weekend as well as business trips. I enjoy both and while trying to stay away from another purchase, tempted to order the PI8 and the JBL Tour Pro 3. The JBLs have a dual driver setup and my older JBLs have very good ANC too... Anybody that has the Tour Pro 3 out here?

Have been considering the AVIOT TE-ZX1 based on so many positive reviews here. But now the B&W offering is available. The Aviot is now available on Amazon prime with a two or three day delivery window.

Based on one of the reviews here, I recently bought the Nothing ear offering on Amazon. The black version was just a little over $119.

I must say, I was quite impressed with the Nothing ears.

Sound wise, they are a whole grade level above the Apple Pro2. They also are very light and comfortable.

Which gave me the itch to try ultra premium to see if it’s worth it. And BTW, I also on the Denon Pearl, pros, which I think have quite excellent sound quality and are also a grade level above the Apple.

Thank you for incentivizing me to do this :)

Just for today:

Sony/Am2 > Tidal > LDAC > Mountain Climbing by Joe Bonamassa......Sony set to highest everything

AVIOT ZX1 PNK > I've decided it's going to a new home. I prefer the ZX1, whether it's tuning or ?

ZX1 vs Pi8: The Pi8 stayed in and I'm listening to Only Love by The Damn Truth. I've never heard it before and I want to get up and dance to it. The Pi8 has wider, deeper, and smoother SQ. The ZX1 is more analytical. The Zx1 is more transparent but I wouldn't call the Pi8 veiled.

Wow a new version to me, of Hear My Train recorded at Olympic Studios. gotta go....

I got the blue Pi8s and they look great, a great royal blue tone. Nice change from run of the mill black ones. They are very comfortable and I haven't even started tip rolling - perhaps my tws Baroques will fit nicely (and ruin the color pallette lol). These things are TINY compared to the DPP.

Edit : the case is also nice with its metal hinge, this thing is sturdy. I slightly miss the triple leds of DPP but I guess I won't care much how much juice either but has left as I'm far from using a whole battery in one use.

Pi8 with iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Today I was at the cemetery and planted some flowers, and tidied up 5 of my family's graves.
I sat on my knees, and leaned a little forward while "working", then I experienced many dropouts in the left bud.
My phone was lying less than a meter away.
It happened just when leaning forward.

Later I was at the grocery store, talking to my mother using the Pi8, with my phone in the back pocket.
When I leaned forward into one of the store's refrigerator, (edit, not with the head inside) my mother said the call went very choppy.
After I straighened up again, everything was ok...
I tried a couple of times, and every time the call was choppy...

Isn't that a little strange? And kinda bad with some $399 TWS?

I actually regret a little that I chose the black/grey ones. They look good, but a very safe choice... (aka boring)

My wife said the Dove White color looks like jewelry.

Just listening to Epic by Faith No More with Sony like above: ....A/B with> Sony Z7M2 H.P.s vs Pi8...........Pi8 is or are, whatever THEY are in my ears.

So I’ve been a lurker on here for awhile now and would call myself an amateur in all this, but I need some help. Heard people talking about the KS100s from Alpha & Delta so I said ok I’ll try them. I bought a pair off Amazon (the DD version) and for some reason they wouldn’t work. I pulled off all the stickies on the earbuds and case but wouldn’t charge and wouldn’t connect. So I did an Amazon replacement which I just got today and they STILL don’t seem to work/connect/charge. Is it possible I have 2 duds? Or am I doing something wrong?
They are really finicky over usb cable. I had to use a random one I got with a gimble, my normal usb cables wouldn't charge them

Interesting little thing that i've noticed ... been a couple of OS updates for the Xiaomi 14 Ultra this last month, including 1 update specifically targeting bluetooth.

Connecting my Earfun Air Pro 4's and i notice a change in the BT page..... seems Xiaomi's added AptX Lossless to their stack.

The phone always had AptX Adaptive but didn't go all the way to lossless (hence using Eppfun 3040 dongle)
So Xiaomi are, i think, one of the leaders now in support, since they cover LDAC, AptX Lossless, LHDC v5

Hey gang, for the Pi8 owners, how is the transparency mode on them? Anyone used them for conference calls, etc. yet? Very tempted to give them a whirl.
Transparency mode sounded pretty natural to me but you can't adjust the level. I tried to use the PI8 on a few calls today just to test. No one complained but I felt like I had to yell a bit (my voice generally does not get picked up well by most mics). Probably works fine in a pinch but I switched to my Galaxy Buds3 ( ofe, I was in a quiet office so I cant speak for calls in a noisy environment). I still like the Jabra Elite 10s for calls (or Buds3 if in my office or at home with the door closed). I find the Technics AZ80 work well for calls as well and would probably use those over the PI8 for calls. I unpaired the PI8 from my Fold 5 (primary phone) and plan on using the PI8s almost exclusively for music with my Xperia 1 V, whoch is a second phone that I dont actually use for calls.

If that is the phone natively showing it is using aptX Lossless then that is cool as no way to tell for now apart from Sennheiser's App.

Lame as we get 2 banners, the 1st for aptX Adaptive and the 2nd for Snapdragon Sound each time they connect so why not have a 3rd banner for Lossless or even better combined into one banner.

aptX Lossless is aptX Adaptive R3 (AFAIR) so it simply shows in the phone settings as aptX Adaptive 24/44.1, there is no 16bit option for aptX Adaptive in Android so far and 44.1 only shows when set to aptX Lossless but it can fall back to 24/44.1 aptX Adaptive if signal drops off as you move too far from the phone.
