Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?

@ clerkpalmer, I was directing that to the above posters Jabra Wishlist, if they did add higher codecs the battery would be sub 5 hours.

I am also put off with Noble and Creatives latest earbuds battery life, esp as Creative were up to 15-16/18 hours (AFAIR) years ago.

@ erockg, L-14m so will fit me, they look quite thick so is the passive seal good?
The only codec that Jabra has announced they will add is LC3, and that won't be worse battery-wise than SBC or AAC.

Yup, seal is great in my holes. My NFPs have decent passive isolation.

Once Jabra releases LC3, then I just have wait and see if Samsung allows it on their phones. Samsung is so annoying...

It is only to replace SBC (there is also a LC3+) not compete with the aptX series of codecs so not a deal breaker for me but I read they (in general not Jabra) can also do aptX adaptive etc via LE Audio so that would help battery life.

I wish Jabra would release their earbuds with AptX Adaptive/Lossless and/or LDAC.
Because honestly, the Jabra Elite 10 actually do sound fan-fooking-tastic! I've done some more EQ:ing with Wavelet, and with ANC turned off, I'll be damned if it's not one of the best sound experiences I've heard, even though I own many of the more premium sets of earbuds.
The bass is fast and rumbles just the right amount, and the lower highs just has this super satisfying snappy feel to it, it's hard to describe.

So yeah Jabra, more codecs please!
It would be nice if they did, but like @helmutcheese I would be concerned with battery life.

For me with my nerfed Samsung it would need to LDAC.

I starting to think I might try something like a One Plus device for my next phone. Just need to start saving now as they are not available through any cell phone provider in Canada.

There is unfortunately a lot of confusion around LC3 and audio quality. This is from the Bluetooth SIG literature I linked a few posts back
What is important is that audio application designers understand that there are compromises
in designing a wireless audio experience and that some QoS choices may exclude the
development of new use cases. Some sections of the audio industry will jump onto the
higher quality that LC3 offers and promote the highest sampling rates, despite the fact that
limitations in reproduction and the listening environment will probably mean that few, if any
listeners will appreciate them. In addition, the resulting latency is unsuitable for live
applications and some devices may not be able to decode them. Others will look at the new
features and use cases that are enabled by Bluetooth LE Audio and choose 24kHz or
32kHzas an acceptable compromise which allows new use cases to develop. Only time will
determine what users value most. It may be more flexibility in their applications, or a desire
to see a bigger “quality” number in the marketing literature

DEFINITELY not 99%. Maybe 75. Maybe you can EQ them to the Prestige, I don't know. My love for them grows stronger each day. @FullCircle can speak more to it, but man, I do feel like the tuning is better. Yes, I'm EQing, but not sure if it's the wood shell, they sure do sound wonderful. Would love to see some pics as to how these were crafted. I shall do some Googling...

I also just got these https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B7D9D1FJ?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1 and they work incredibly well. Thanks to @jant71 for dropping them on my radar.
All right you big jerk. I guess I need to see for myself.

Demand outpaces build speed, I wish we could build faster.
