I generally don't love IEMs all things being equal. I've always found I can get way better sound out of full sized cans so if I'm spending big dollars, I'll probably go down that path. Probably should give the Bathys another whirl.
You might dig the Bathys. I use mine every day… good for phone calls (I have MS teams dial my cell phone for audio…) and the sound is pretty great. The band isn’t super comfy for my giant head but I bought this cloth thingie on eBay that works great. ANC is ok but not great. Tempted to try the ML but maybe there’ll be some new headphones coming out in 2023

If you have the Bathys there isn't a HUGE diff. Clerk pretty much convinced me to return them and enjoy my PX8. The huge cost gap really isn't worth it. And you're right, there will alway be something new... maybe a B&O H100?!?!?!

The PX8 are about as good as a closed back BT headset could possibly sound. I did own the Bathys briefly and enjoyed them but I think the PX8 are probably right there with them and it comes down to preference. I’m gonna take my own advice and enjoy the superb PX8.

Interesting discussion going on over in the noble thread about TWS developments versus Wired. Getting closer to pressing the order button for the Mystique. It’s unbelievable to me that Noble is the only high end audio company that really is embracing and in fact advancing true wireless. For that alone, they deserve our money. Yes Final and even HiFiman have offered TWS but they feel like afterthoughts compared to Noble.
Hmm, I am finding the audio on the Fold 4 quite a bit different than the S20. I figured it would be similar, but it is different... maybe bigger bass, warmer???
Will have to try a couple different TWS and do some AB comparisons...

QCY HT05 Melobuds - think it was james444 who recommended these, and I can see why. Great sound for the price.
Soundpeats Opera05 - very decent (although not spectacular) sound but what were they thinking with the fit?
Haylou Purfree Buds - another good sport release from Haylou. Been using these for runs and bike rides religiously. Not sure how they (and Oladance for that matter) think the products will take off with such high price tags though.
Should be able to get the Realme Buds Air 3S done this weekend too. £28 for respectable multipoint buds with very good app support (although the sound is very average)

~ moderation is the key to balance and a balanced life and that while the fringe frivolities of our existence that can be deemed as 'fun' should not be indulged in to the point of making it a sole focus and an end unto itself you need balance and an non-myopic awareness of everything that is going on so at to be able to take it all in for the full world that it is ~

Out of curiosity, have you come across these before? 16.2mm drivers, BT 5.3 and 7 hours per charge at half price (40% coupon) of the Haylou and Oladance seem interesting: https://www.amazon.co.jp/-/en/gp/product/B0BHYTQZFD/

Since I have your attention, any tips for those of us who have fit issues with the wide bores? Also you mentioned two things in your thread that I found interesting: 1. You have identified where others cut corners and 2. Space as a limiting factor in tws. Can you elaborate on these? I suspect I understand the space issue but the cutting corners one intrigues me.

Maybe this is true with Noble, for Apple users who are fine with a MQA or AAC strongly compressed music limited to the old 280 kbps bandwidth ... but, probably not really for Sony or Samsung users who are probably more concerned with TWS able to handle a nearer to a lossless CD quality Bandwidth at 990Kbps ..
Of course, daily, for walking in the street, taking trains, underground, bus, or even in quite noisy office environment, AAC & MQA compressed music are already very good and probably sufficient 99% of the listening time..
But, in some other very quiet environments for more critical listenings, I am not sure most of the Noble TWS will be at the sound quality level of most recent balanced cabled IEMs.
If I explained what the secret sauce is, then it isn't a secret any longer. But mostly it is a business gamble. We use quality parts = better sq = higher production costs = higher retail costs = but willing to accept lower margins in order to increase sales and move inventory
we are a small company, chipping at the edges, Willing to do things that the big companies are not & being grateful for the market share we have. This formula has kept us alive for a decade.
