Hey there,
may I ask how some of you managed to fit a regular 1/2" microphone all the way in into a 711 coupler?
I have two units from Taobao, purchased maybe 3 years ago, No. 20282 and No. 20311. The diameter of the opening is about 13.2 mm at first but then tapers down to around 12 mm due to the screw thread.
If I'm not mistaken here GRAS uses the 40AG 1/2" pressure mic for their 60318-4 couplers, which is specified with the following dimensions:
Am I right that the upper part is just the protection cap, which is an accessory for external use scenarios, hence the diameter of 12 mm is actually the right one for your (DIY-ish) microphone?
