Future Sonics Atrio MG7 Review and Appreciation thread

I just went to an audiologist to get some custom sleeves for my shure se535's and we started talking about what I was looking for. I told her that I was missing that "wow" factor with the shures. She proceeded to throw a pair of the m5 pros on me and then she left the room. I have to say that I was a shure fan boy since they were the first iem that I bought. Well I am selling the shures now. I even got a custom cable for them to try to get the sound that I wanted. Don't get me wrong the shures are really nice but the atrios just blow my mind. Thanks to all the different opinions in this thread. I just wanted to throw my 2 cents in.

Very nice!  I've had my M5s for a while now and still love them. No desire to change at all.

Well, depends on if you consider the ZO2 to be "eq'ing"....when I use them, I pretty much exclusively use them with my ZO2....the combo is fantastic.

I have the e11 and I sometimes turn the boost on but it starts to sound artificial, I wonder if the z02 is better. I have been hearing a lot about that one on here.

Oh yeah, it's totally different IMO....I love my E11 but I hate the bass boost. The ZO2's amp isn't as powerful as the E11 (although they have a new product or two coming out that will be able to drive 600 ohm phones apparently), but the low end is beautiful. I can't stand bloated, distorted, or otherwise sloppy bass...the ZO can add quite a bit of low end energy while also keeping the signal pretty clean. I use it with headphones from time to time (it's great with the Beyer 1350s) but with IEMs it's just unreal. I sometimes will fire up the ZO and Atrios with myKindle Fire and watch a Netflix movie or something....it's a great ride. This isn't a knock on the E11 at all, cause I think it's a great product. It was my first portable amp and I'm glad I have it. But the ZO is just a really neat product that delivers exactly what it says it'll do. I never thougth I would have liked a product such as this, cause I'm not a bass head at all....but I pretty smitten with it.

Thanks H20! Looks pretty normal when you wear it down, looks a little strange wearing it around the ear though. Hmm

Cool thanks thats what I wanted to hear( not my wallet though ) I will pick one up today and see how it does.

I will, I am actually trying to bring some low end to my se535's because I just love the mids but the lack of bass is sad. Has anyone used this combo that you know of?

In my opinion, the current ZO model works really well with headphones, but with IEMs it takes things to an entirely different level. I can only assume the ZO would give you exactly what you're looking for in terms of the low end. I can't stand bloated, boomy bass...and the ZO didn't really appeal to me at all when I first read about it. But whatever that vector technology does, it keeps the bass clean and avoids the issues that prevent me from EQ'ing. I've heard those Shures are great IEMs, so yeah, I think you'll be very happy with the results. If not, they'll let you return it within 30 days I'm pretty sure, but I seriously doubt you'd do that. And don't listen to people who say it's too complicated to use. If you sit down with the directions and take the time to understand it, it's very simple. But yeah, the mids and highs will remain intact just as you like them, and the low end will come alive and create a pretty awesome experience for you. 
 
I'm really looking forward to their new offerings and their amp attachment, cause I don't use IEMs nearly as often as I do headphones...just a personal preference...so once I can get my T1s involved, it's going to be awesome.
