Im waiting my unit to be arrive as well, mostly i listened EDM, i hope it will meet my expectation, i auditioned mk1 about 2 years ago in audio shop, and im feel in love with them ever since, also to be my complementary unit, i already have bright and warm headphone, i believed in TH900I don't think that the TH900 Mk2 can be classified as a "Reference" headphone; far from it, actually. However, as a music-listening tool - and if you enjoy the type of music that's best-suited to this headphone's strengths (e.g. EDM, in its many guises) - you probably can't do better than the Fostex.

Has someone compared TH900 with TH610 pads vs. TH610? Does the stronger magnets really make a bug difference in technicalities?

Got you. I actually use them a lot for recording vocals because you can still hear your own voice while recordingI don't think that the TH900 Mk2 can be classified as a "Reference" headphone; far from it, actually. You should be very happy with Matt's cable. We've been using mainly his Noir range for many years now and are pleased with it!
And for which iDSD Signature you have to wait? Pro or micro?

The Pro I ordered it mid early december, but I guess with the component shortage and everything going on, the delay is normal. I'm in France. But I don't mind waiting, since I'm quite sure it's worth waiting for.You should be very happy with Matt's cable. We've been using mainly his Noir range for many years now and are pleased with it!

If I would use the word "mostly" - would that make your mixes sound any better? The use of "only" negates everything you said and will say.
A mix created on TH900, would sound like it's missing bass and treble on headphones that do not have the same V-signature, as they wouldn't boost these frequencies in the same way. Mids, on the other hand, would sound "forward".
Here is what a sound engineer with 30 years of experience has to say on the topic: https://www.quora.com/Why-don-t-audio-engineers-use-high-end-headphones?share=1

Yes, here and there Pro iDSD Signature products might be missing, but these should soon be available again!

Can someone help? Does the mk2 in red sound different from the mk1 and does the mk2 sound different from the mk2 in other colors?
Also are there any pads that help with isolation and leakage without drastically increasing the bass? Thanks.

I can maybe answer the 2nd question — I have put the ZMF Ori Sheepskin pads, with Dekoni attenuation rings, and they have given me the slightly better isolation I was looking for. I mainly got them for better / tighter fit though, since the pads are much “fatter”, they make the TH900mk2 sit better on my head (less loose), and don’t move around now when I move. Sound seems to be just as good. Can someone help? Does the mk2 in red sound different from the mk1 and does the mk2 sound different from the mk2 in other colors?

I think the only difference between Mk1 and Mk2 is the detachable cable in the Mk2. The Mk1, Mk2 and Emerald Green have the same tuning. The Sapphire Blue and Pearl White have a different tuning that is supposed to be slightly more neutral, I haven't heard those two, so I can't say how much of difference there is.

Thanks a lot! How fast is the bass compared to a focal headphone or a planar?I think the only difference between Mk1 and Mk2 is the detachable cable in the Mk2. I'm afraid someone else will have to help you with that. While I have quite a bit experience with Focal/JMLab speakers, I've never tried out their headphones. The only planar I have a lot of time on is the HE-400i, which has a much different presentation than the TH900's. I'm burning in some recently purchased Ananda's, but again they are a much different can. Compared to them, the TH900's bass is a little slower but there is so much more energy and slam, from the mid-bass down, there is no comparison, especially in the sub-bass. The thing I like about the 900's bass is that while plentiful, there is still great detail and layering. It also has a very fast decay, even with my tube amp. I don't go to all the shows or try out a ton of cans but the 900's are the closest thing I've heard to a full range speaker or a system with a good REL sub. I think to get the best out of it, you need an amp that will bring out the mids a bit more. I also think while you can drive it with something like a Dragonfly, it definitely scales with better gear. Thanks a lot! How fast is the bass compared to a focal headphone or a planar?
Utopia is all round better than TH900. Clear pro? I still prefer TH900.Thanks a lot! How fast is the bass compared to a focal headphone or a planar?
