If it sounds good, that's all that mattersThanks for the analysis. As an owner, I never know these specs but simply thought it’s “good”.
I mean that it won't affect the headphone's frequency response by either increasing or decreasing quantity of sound pressure across the spectrum. When you say “flat”, do you mean the amp doesn’t change the sound signature of the headphone but “amplifying” it?
However, an amp may still affect the quality of sound - you may have two amps that will produce the same amount of bass on the same headphones, but one will have great texture and the other one will be muddy - frequency response doesn't show that.
Also different amps may make the notes sound thinner or thicker.
All these amps won't affect the extreme V-shape FR of TH900, but they may introduce significant differences nonetheless.
You can't really measure FR of an all-in-one (DAC/Amp), a transfer function can only be calculated when both output and input are analog. For machine like Naim Uniti (all in one), some says its sound signature is “coloured”, similar to p1u. I guess they are not “flat”, or are they?
However, it may still affect the sound in the same ways as I described above.
It has enough power to drive almost any headphone on Earth, especially through the balanced output:By the way, 750u can also drive high impedance but do you reckon it’s good enough for something like hd800 or even hifiman?
However, HD800 is very sensitive to amps, you shouldn't buy it before listening to it on your sound chain.
