I would not use it on a plane but I have been using it for 2 years in the subway, buses and ferrys with no issues.

Swapped to ZMF Eikon pads today.
Eikon has a bit more spark, closer to the TH900 house-sound. Had to spend quite bit to get tyh
Back to the dekoni pads, Eikon pads are really sweet and the extra treble is OK, but they also gave me a sore head, the weight distribution was off; coudn't wear them for over 2 hours. Dekoni pads don't give me this issue. Gonna try the eikon pads with my TH-X00 PH at work and if that doesn't work out I'll them on my T5p's :)

I m Lucky to have both th900 and a borrowed sony z1r at home from a while and i m swapping many album beetwen These two
The sony sound darker, warmer, and more musical and easy going
Maybe it s even a bit more Universal as per genre and kind of music
But i think to still Like The air, the 2subwoofer! the treble the detail and the soundstage of the fostex more

Did anyone have chance to compare TH900 mk 1/2 with latest MrSpeakers ETHER C Flow 1.1 ? I'm considering an upgrade but cannot find direct comparison :beerchug:

Hey guys. Need your advice.
I have a pair of TH600. Liked those a lot...but sometimes highs are too harsh... and iI like to have more mids... so I bought a pair of red caps from TH900 with damping. Installed those on my 600 and harshness is kinda reduced... soundstage becomes a bit wider... but still I want to get more... so my idea is to buy a pair of TH900 drivers form fullcompass and convert my TH600 to TH900 for cheap (kinda)... or even get massdrop TR-X00 (found it locally for 300USD new) and get MK2. So my question is with those caps and drivers installed will that be close enough to reach TH900 (mk2) or there are more to do? Additional damping? Tweaks? :)

i gave the z1r another listen yesterday. i agree that it has a darker, warmer and more relaxed presentation than the th900. i did notice some muddiness tho. i've been sitting on the fence about this headphone for a long time and based on yesterday's audition, it's looking less likely that i'll be adding it to the collection.

Massdrop th00 have more mids
Or you can try with pads (dekoni fenestrared) .

Sony is built better, light, keeps out side noise from getting in. The issue with the Sony is its sound. Bass is great but doesnt hit as low. Treble suppose to go like to Saturn but its not really strong in the treble. Mids are thick but something is weird in its mids. Also to me its over all sound is not as real as the th900.

the perfect headphone:
bass of the th900
space of the he1000
mid and treble of the utopia
(easy to drive, i guess dynamic drivers, very light and comfortable, reliable and with 5years of transfarble warranty!!)
still to be built
