Ahhhhh at my office, all my employees are gone, just me, my AK240, and my th900... So relaxed. Really enjoying these headphones.

Looking for a case. I need it to keep these beauties from getting scratched while in my messenger bag. Just for my car ride to work, carrying in my office, and back home again. Found these:

Checked the Pelican 1300, a little too big for my purposes. Anyone ever try the ones I listed? TIA.

Having spent much more time with the TH600 and TH900, you definitely start to notice just how amazing the TH900 is. The TH600 is a wonderful headphone, yet next to the TH900, it sounds like a low fi version. That clealiness in the mids is gone, and bass creeps up a bit further into the mids. The TH900 has a wonderful sense of separation between the bass and midrange. It's unlike anything I've ever heard. They sound detached from one another, yet work parallel to one another. The TH900 has an extra euphonic tonality which the TH600 lacks.

Both have wonderful treble to my ears. Bright, yet not overbearing, and just a little above midrange level.

Soundstage is TH900 all day, everyday. TH600 has a great soundstage, yet sounds like a standard headphone nextnto the TH900 which spreads out even further.

The separation between bass and mids in the 900 doesn't even make sense to me.  It's pretty ridiculous.

Why do you find it ridiculous?

To me the bass just doesn't creep up into the upper bass so there's no 'boom' in mens' voices, but the lower bass is still strong.

Quite a few headphones with raised bass levels, (which makes them more similar to a speaker in a room) sound 'boomy' while these don't.

I think the originator of that post is describing this. The bass is kind of separated from the mids. Dead easy to follow bass lines too.

I certainly don't find the sound of the Fostex ridiculous. It has a real character that emulates a speaker sound pretty well imo.

I actually think he meant it's ridiculous because the TH900 is like the only headphone that has this kind of character. So you don't expect it, hence why it's ridiculous. Pretty sure he meant it in a positive manner.

Oh, sorry. :)

It's 'bad' in that it's 'good'!!!! :gs1000smile:

I wondered what you were saying!! I must admit, Mad Lust Envy's description of a 'parallel' bass was very good. A really apt description of its bass.

I'll put another one in ......... 'My bad!!!!' I don't got a good understanding of de language man!! :confused_face(1):

Spot on MLE - as good as the TH600 is, the TH900 has it comfortably in check to these ears too. Where I live the TH600 is $1000+ most places, and the TH900 $1500 - a real no brainer which one to go with when the gap is that small in pricing.

If the rumor is that you can plug the hd800 into it and it will make sound, then it's true. What you're really quoting is their marketing spiel. As I said, you can do a lot better with your $699, but spend it how you see fit.
