I know it close vs open but I find  Philips Fidelio X2 better than th900 in sound quality .

What do you mean by 'sound quality'?

Too much bass?
Recessed mids?
Harsh treble?

Those are actually the reasons why I love my TH900

The tuning of TH900 is just right for me.

And if you give this a listen:

You will find that compared to other flagships, TH900 actually sounds the most sonically "correct" except the slightly recessed mids.
No exaggeration on soundstage or imaging.

Not sure how accurate that is... but the Edition 12... damn.

bass good but not controlled and well extended like lcd 3

Th900 medium sound stage but philips X2 has bigger soundstage

Separation and imaging very good on X2 also beat th900 .

Highs: smooth and clean in both headphones.

low interfere with mids and that's bad thing in Th900 .

regardless of the price X2 and fostex th900 have similarities but open always beat close headphones .

philps X2 and Th900 are the most pretty headphone in my collection .

Can't agree with any of that.
The mids on te TH-900 are a little recessed like most say, which I try to over exxagerate because I just love certain vocal music, but it's usuually not as bad as I describe it and easily fixed with Lawton mods.
IMO yopur assumptions are plainly wrong, the TH-900 is one of the top phones of the moment, a comparison with any Fidelio is just ridiculous.
And yes, I heard the Dutch Fidelios, that's one of the few things I can try for free as I'm living close to Holland. They're no more that simple consumer phones, even far from the status of a Z7.

today I was given by my wife an Iphone with stock earphones and listened MP3 at gym.. that was incredible.. So energetic, bass is so hot and punchy, the scene is a little less than at TH900, HF are so sweat but warm and not so bright like in TH900.

So I will say bye to my TH900.

I have them both and I spent over 5 months with them so I'm not sorry too leave th900 behind X2 . no strong point for th900 to pick over X2 really !!

I am ordering the X2 based on your rave review.  I have had the L1, L2 and X1 in my closet.  All of which I tried and liked at the Apple Store in Manhattan over the last few years.  I am looking forwards to how these X2 sounds compared with my TH900.

That'd be a nightmare. But comapring a crappy fidelio to a th-900 is a dellusion.

I only speak facts . in my experience with these headphones, I prefer X2 over Th900 .That's my ears not looking at price or looks .
X2 built solid beat Hd 800 plastic and th900 cherry wood ,which one you called crappy now !!

it's a fact that you prefer the x2 over the th900. that the x2 are better than the th900, on whatever "objective" way people want to measure it, is certainly up for intense debate.
