I converted mine to a T60 Argon it's not the same as my MK2 Argon and I really like the sound now. Has a warmth to it with the suede's and the any nasal sound that was present is non existent.

You know something sounds good when you don't need to EQ.

Just got a custom cable from periapt cables. Sadly the trrs connector isn't small enough to connect properly. Otherwise the cable looks quite nice.

Thank for that effort, I remember reading an old post of mine where I said it was the same as the MDR-1A. I have my second T60 now and wanted to double verify that

I guess it helps to read the manual, this thing rocks balanced especially with the Argon mod.

Made this from mogami 2893 and put my own paracord on, it's about 7ft. The TRRS was decent to work with as far as they go. Has a brace and I added heat shrink for extra strain relief.

that looks great! I’ve made several custom cables like that but all hand braided and without a covering... what kind of paracord did you use, and where did you get it? I want to get some for the next cable I make

It appears my L- and R- are reversed to whats above. Not sure if Fostex messed that up in factory.
So I can use Oppo and Hifiman cables .

No but I did send it to modhouse and got the alcantara strap and suede ZMF pads and it sounds much better to me.

unfortunately "send in" the headphone is not a viable solution for everyone.

I have the atom and planning on getting the t60rp. Considering how the t60 sounded on my dap, I have no doubt that it will sound good on the atom.

wondering if the atom really has enough power to drive them at their best, picky headphones the T60, further mods can make them even harder to drive

Some people believe that the Fostex planar drivers really need multiple watts of power to sounds their best, and the Atom would not provide that. (I'm not in that camp, I happily run my Argons on (relatively powerful) portable amps)
