It's slick, black, shiny, just the right shade of minimalistic - but it's sooo 2010. Yucky!

2010?  I think it looks like a pioneer laserdisc from the 1990's, that sleek black look like gel in someones hair.

Still, I love the digital display and feature set, I may as well buy a 10M headphone cable extension and use the remote control too.

I suppose the HP-A7 looks more studio, and this looks more Hi-Fi, or?

I agree with Anetode, @ $1400 no XLR outputs is certainly a deal-breaker for my needs as well. Although the ADC is a nice feature if it actually does that.

Release date getting close? =D Interested to hear if it's good, even though I don't have a slightest intention to switch to this.

TH900 better be fine for the price... = / Not interested myself. Of course it might be worth it, I can't tell.

Personally, I think it's an exercise in futility to try and universally quantify the way something sounds with a price tag. Is the LCD-3 twice as good sounding as an LCD-2? Is the SR-009 worth three times the price of a used SR-007? Something sounds the way it sounds regardless of price, and it's up to the individual to decide if it's worth it.

And there's more to it than sound, which I'm sure doesn't sit well with more objectivist head-fiers. The TH900 is a piece of import-exclusive exotica, made from the same wood used in the R10 and covered in the excretions of poison ivy. It's something that either speaks to your soul, something you have to possess... or it's not.

Agreed with both statements.

For headphones I find the price hasn't got much to do at all with how good they will sound to me.
For amps ,and dacs even more so, there is a much tighter relation between price and sound quality.

Edit: Looking forward to your impressions when the time comes. I'm not planning on buying these blindly for now.
