i didn't know that. i purchased mine in-store. the serial number is located under the right ear cushion btw.

I feel like a lot of peoples impressions of the Utopia might depend on the position on your head. In a higher position, it sounds a lot like what some describe as an unnatural metallic sheen to the music and peaky treble. When the cups sit lower on my ears, I get a natural tonality without any harshness whatsoever. Perhaps they are similar to the Qualia 010's in this regard and i've owned two sets in the past.
