IMO, anything with fluidity and musical is good most importantly, you want any amp that can produce the widest soundstage
Any good cost friendly examples of that? Also does the Utopia benefit from a lot of power? I was considering running it balanced but not sure if it’ll make a difference considering the low impedance.IMO, anything with fluidity and musical is good most importantly, you want any amp that can produce the widest soundstage
The Utopia doesn't need a ton of power to sound good, BUT it will be very transparent with the amp you pair with it. So I would get a quality made amp over just a powerful amp with no finesse if that makes sense?Any good cost friendly examples of that? Also does the Utopia benefit from a lot of power? I think tubes and the Utopia are a crazy good combo. Just think of what YOU would enjoy more, Warmer inviting sound, or maxed out analytical... There are tube amps out there that sound very solid state. look to see if you can audition some tube/hybrid amps as well to see if that gives you the best of both worlds.
Agree that Utopia doesn’t need ton of power. You can drive it from DAP. However, the finesses will be the most important factor , depend on what you mean by cost friendly

I know I may be opening a can of worms here but in general does that mean the more power the better despite its impedance rating? Also do you have any experience with a Jotunheim through balanced xlr pairing? That seems to fit my price point fairly nicely at this point.Let’s talk headroom. Extra power that remains unused is not really unused. That unused power by affect is a positive in that if the Amp is good to begin with the extra power translates to more space in the presentation.

Just got on the Utopia train! It is seriously an amazing headphone and I’m super happy with it.
I just have a question about amp pairing. I was wondering what characteristics of an amp I should be looking for. I understand it’s a lot of personal preference but in general should I be looking for something warmer since the utopia is already somewhat bright or should I look for clarity to enhance even more what’s already great about it. Would love some feedback!
You’re not opening a can of worms at all. As a sponsor I can’t comment on brands I don’t represent. But to answer your question extra unused power doesn’t care too much
What makes you enjoy the Schiit stack more than the mojo?I'm happy with my Schiit Asgard 2 and Utopia pairing as many describe the Asgard as warm-ish sounding for a SS amp. I definitely like the Utopia out of my Schiit stack better than I do out of my Mojo.
What makes you enjoy the Schiit stack more than the mojo?

Yeah I would prefer a dac amp combo just cause it seems more convinient but I am totally open to separate ones as well. At the end of the day I want to find the right point where I’m getting the most out of my gear without spending an absurd amount which I’m sure I’m not the first person to think that haha. I had a mojo but I recently sold it and am back to square 1What are you using for source or are you asking for DAC+amp combos?
