Jason, this is your post, after reading this post it's very clear to me that you are saying, the McDAC is as good as the Dave, hang on ,I'VE got that wrong, you then say THIS, (and then some)meaning that the McDAC is better then the Dave,or I'm i reading this wrong Jason?

Yes once again you've read it wrong. I'd suggest reading in English this time. Yes the McDAC is made in USA. Yes I sell them. Yes I think it is an alternative to the DAVE and yes, I think you are deliberately distorting my words.

Go read this as it's not me writing it so possibly you'll find it easier to get your head around

Jason,YOU are saying in plain ENGLISH that the McDAC is better than the Dave;their's NO other way of reading it,and of course if that's what you think it's ok with me,but that is what you have wrote.

You neglect and I think antagonistically, to note I said the differences are subjective and that I started my post with qualifying that I'm NOT saying one is better than the other.

I guess that part of English is not one you're able to grasp.

toe to toe and then some to me translates to "it's at least as good and may be better in some ways". For example, the McIntosh has more features than the Dave, so that might be the "and then some".

@lovethatsound - how about you take the DAC discussion to the D1100 thread here.

God I love these cans. I've owned them for 8 months and they still put a smile on my face.

Well, I decided I'm definitely going to replace my Vega with another DAC for the Utopia. I made some calls and there is no way to audition a Dave around here (Massachusetts). So, I've decided I owe it to myself to get a Yggy, which will be easy to sell if I don't like it, or maybe the Holo Audio Spring Level 3 Tuned Edition. Definitely not looking to make a side grade, looking for an upgrade. We will see, I need to do some more reading, the Yggy thread is 356 pages long.

The Hugo 2 might also be interesting. But I haven't heard the Hugo 2 yet so I can't comment on it. But I suspect it should be really good.

Why don't you try giving the LSK 004 a try ? Technically speaking, it is great for the price
https://www.amazon.com/L-K-S-MH-DA004-USB-Black-Upgraded/dp/B06XT3L6JL

Dual ESS Sabres 9038Pro in Through and through Mono applications : dual Toroid transformer, dual rails, dual DAC chips, class A discrete output...etc....etc ? It is very well-built

Stop being contrary. lol let people try what they want to try. Just cuz it's in Amazon doesn't make it worth buying.
