I think the rumors of a Utopia v2 are overexaggerated. What precisely do you want them to improve? I feel like Utopia and Susvara have sort of maxed out what a headphone is capable of within the laws of physics.

For the most part I prefer headphones with a small soundstage. I mostly listen to rock and alternative and like the intimate nature of a small soundstage. But I don’t like a flat soundstage. Utopia has amazingly precise 3D with better location of instruments than what I’ve heard yet. I have not listened to the other TOTL headphones yet, so don’t know how this precision compares.

I know when I first started in this hobby I had the Senn HD650 and ended up preferring the Grado RS-1 to it. When Grado came out the the GS-1000 with bigger soundstage, I hated it. I eventually got a rare Grado PS-1 with that had a more Utopia like soundstage, at least from memory.

I want more extended and less rolled off sub bass.

Ok, fair point. I think you would have to give up clarity for it, but if they could pull it off WITHOUT giving up clarity that would be worthy of a v2.

Again, we're working within the realm of physics here - what IS actually possible.

Focal can spend more than $25 and get some 50mm BE drivers which will provide the much needed lower bass response and other benefits.

No one doubts more sub-bass is possible. Can they give us more sub-bass without losing the clarity, detail, & resolution Utopia is famous for, or is sub-bass the enemy of clarity? THAT is the question.

Resolution could be improved on top of subbass. Comparing them with the Diana TC the Abyss definitely digged deeper into the music, there is an extra degree of clarity in the mid and treble. Still the Utopia are probably unmatched in terms of timbre and tonality.
