For what it’s worth, my Utopia is the 2020 version and I haven’t experienced any issues with the driver, ear pads or headband. These headphones are phenomenal sounding.
I absolutely love the Utopia and also own the 2020 version- unfortunately just had to send in for repair because of bass rattle on the left channel. Unfortunate, but sending in for a fix was easy. Turn around time is around 4 weeks which...sucks.

Well I am now since my TT2 is in for warranty repair! I’m using my Focal Arche and they do drive the 1266 as well, but it just isn’t the same. The Utopia is still a very nice headphone!
After hearing what you’re all saying, I think I’m starting to agree regarding whether to wait for a Utopia successor or not.
There’s no telling that the successor will be better and even if it is, at this level, it’s all about preference more than anything. I highly doubt they would change the overall sound of their flagship as well.
I think if I can get a good deal on one from my dealer (I dont care if it’s the old packaging), ill go for it. If it’s not a great deal, might as well wait a few months and see where we are.
