Yeah. Got to spend two hours with it yesterday. This was a private demo for a unit that is being sold today. Sennheiser flew it in for this weekend only. Unbelievable experience that I’ll never forget. I'll be totally honest once I got there and listened to three tracks I didn't want to put the Radiance back on.
I did however A/B test on five tracks for 30sec each. The legends are real and the HE-1 won by an absolute mile. The Radiance kept up in bass for midbass depth but the sub bass and definition is on another level with the HE-1. Detail retrieval is not the same at all and the Radiance sounds lackluster by comparison.
Please, save your money and consider other options.
Focal cables are terrible; I've had a lot of Focal sets (including the Radiance) and I need to change the cables right away.
I'm a very tolerant and patient person but...the rage those cables conjure out of me is mythical. They are the stiff, unreasonable and unwieldy. They manage to knock stuff off of counters in whole other rooms. They refuse to straighten. They click and clack microphonically like a drunken Clydesdale at a tap competition - in a glass barnhouse.
My best reccomendation is ordering something from Oidio, Forza Audio Works, or what have you. If you're in a pinch the Meze Silver (balanced or unbalanced) is good.
For the Radiance I *highly* reccomend running them balanced if possible. When I got them I was sort of on the fence about them as a whole, and tentitively put them up for sale. One day I got a Forza audio works 4.4mm balanced cable with a 2.5mm attachment and thought to retest the Focals.
Holy Hannah....though.
I tell you what, I took the Radiance off the selling section 2 minutes in. And this was off a Ipad pro 2020 and a bloody dongle. (Qudelix 5k)

Hello and thank you.
The issues you had with Focal cables are they on the Cloth covered cables which kink? However what about the new rubber cables?
yes am interested in Oidio, Forza Audio WorksOidio.
Not very knowledgeable in this area. Just need a 3 meter cable ending in 6.35mm. Can you advise on which spec to choose. Both sites have too many options. And OIDIO don’t seem in stock for Mongrel.
Moved comment to other thread to keep this one on topic.
The headphones look nice but I would kind of feel like a poser since I don't own a Bentley so I would totally use them but keep them at home which is wamp wamp bcus closed backs

I have atleast 3. One of which my Butler Harold is arranging to respray so that it matches the Radiance headphones and ofcourse new Copper Accent colourAlloys.
Listening to Radiance for 2 days now using my Apple lightning to3.5mm dongle. I want to use on my other gear, but have to wait for Cable to arrive. Might be weeks.
I have been trying to find out the difference apart from the Pentagon connector. No dealer in UK can explain. There used to be a phone number for ifi uk, but no longer available. Instead a long complicated form that assumes you already purchased

While the old cloth covered ones were bad, the rubber ones with newer models are no better by any stretch. Generally I prefer Forza because they are the least stiff and even their hybrid (I think its the claire but they have one grade higher) engenders better sound than stock. Again the Meze, especially the balanced silver is really great.

I just ordered OIDIO Mongrel cable. Also purchased £25 Meze cable to keep me going until Mongrel arrives next month. MANY MANY MANY THANKS. TOP PERSON. AWESOME
