Focal Elegia - what do you think?

FYI...some FR charts from the Dekoni site.

You can definitely fine tune your Elegia (or other Focals) with these different pads.

I was looking for tad more bass and a reduction in the mids / treble. After reviewing Dekoni's charts and reading a variety of posts, I chose the Elite Sheepskin pads which accomplished that for me.

Looks like Stellia LTD pads have a different signature according to Dekoni. As always, we all hear differently and ymmv.

The Stellia pads seem to be more designed to go towards the sound signature of the Stellia and Utopia.

While the other sheepskin pads are in the direction of the clear.

But I would take that with a grain of salt... Some people say the Elegia get kinda close to the Stellia with different pads and EQ while others say it's not even anywhere close.

I like the Stellia pads because they are super comfortable and isolation is better. Sure they are expensive but some synthetic leather pads will probably start to peel after a while.

Does anyone know how to reach out to Focal for warranty issues? their website says to go through the dealer. The dealer told me to contact Focal directly, which does not seem to be possible. I sent an email to them a week ago with no reply. TIA

the left driver on my Clear MGs is cutting in and out.

Just purchased Focal Elegia, and after break-in they sound great. I’m happy that the more flexible cable was included.

Thanks. I tried that two weeks ago with no response. I tried it again today, so we'll see. I also tried contacting them through Facebook.
I contacted their Canadian office in Quebec and they got back to me within 24 hours last week.

I just filled out the contact form. I was asking about pads. They got back to me fairly quick. I think it might have even been the same day.
Gave me the option to contact service, but I just wanted pad prices and he got them for me.

Quick update, Focal has confirmed that the cans are covered by the warranty and has provided me with an RA number, so off we go.

I picked these up on sale. Under 500 to 600 dollars, these are a steal. 600 if New in original factory sealed box..
A little sterile at first, but after 20 hrs they became go to headphones. Tight base, clear mids and crystal clear highs.
Amazing base, high hats, cymbal hits and guitar sound on Whole Lotta Love..
Hearing new sounds/echoes on The Police Every Breath You Take…

I’m sure the cathedral type cups help, but it’s the drivers that are the stars.

Came with the thinner shorter rubberized cable. Maybe I’ll upgrade, but no hurry.

Highly recommended

20 hrs is the bare minimum, be patient and when you reach 45/50 hrs you will begin to hear the real Elegia
