I bought mine brand new from a retailer last November.
The price has dropped here too from 900€ to 500€ approximately. So, definitely not related to this model being discontinued.
They just want to promote the Celestee as the Elegia successor.
But I like the Elegia sound signature and soundstage much more. I think the Celestee is a downgrade
Now that I went to look at the French site, they offer a 3 years extended warranty if you register your Elegia (and other headphones) - but the T&C says that only for products bought from resellers located in France.
I bought mine from amazon.de and the seller was a German reseller. I went to the German site, but there is no mention of the extended warranty. I don't want to open an account with Focal just to register if I cannot get an extended warranty.
Have anyone registered their Focal hp and got the 3 years warranty from Germany?
Something about these cans that I've noticed but never mentioned, they can be very "creaky" when on the head. Sometimes the slightest movement (like opening and closing my jaw) can cause this, and it's noticeable, especially if listening to quiet musical passages. Anyone else experience this and are there any solutions? I'm thinking spraying some light lubricant up inside the headband area.

TBH, I'm not really sure. It's not all that severe, so maybe I just never noticed. Right now, they are with Focal Canada for repairs. I'll check more closely when they return.

I don't know about the 3 years warranty in Germany but according to ECC laws you have a two years warranty provided you have an original invoice from the German reseller not mentionning it was bought on E-Bay (eg an invoice as if it bought directly from him) : I fear that any Focal bought on E-Bay has no warranty. I'll mail FOCAL in France about that. Can you give me an idea of the date on the invoice ? Thanx. Take care

I don't really notice it on the head. Every headphone that I've used with a lot of plastic had some creakiness. With these it's mainly the arms moving inside the headband.

Listened to My Elegia's last night while going thru headphones watching old TV shows, luckily had my WA7 as on my Oppo HA-1 it was very harsh with Ananda a lot and HD800 a lot, on both my WA7 and HA-1 the Clears were smooth however, and I realized why Crinacle ranked their technical performance so low but I think he is wrong. Just because the Elegia doesn't put the grainy detail in my face or really show it at all on a clearly harsh and grainy much older mixed TV shows track doesn't make them bad... They are just... Smooth(don't get me wrong BTW if you put them on a super analytical AMP they can show plenty detail but I notice they take on qualities of the AMP they are being run from to a very high degree) they are also one of the most resolving headphones I have ever tried.... On both my smooth AMP's they can make anything sound clean and when I switched from youtube to a much higher quality FLAC for a song I noticed some more obvious details on my Elegia than even I would have on my HD800(admittedly due to it's superior IMO dynamics) and that was super obvious on much cheaper headphones but the thing is not only did I notice it easily on the Elegia but it was still soooo smooth and when I went to the FLAC which didn't have the the problem on the track it barely sounded more detailed but sounded very much more resolving... So I think Crin go that one totally wrong.
Gotta give it to @Resolve for getting it right and purr1n
"does the Elegia have TOTL technicalities found in the Utopia? LOL, no. But I think we can effectively say that it's on the level of the Elex and Clear. "
Also considering the following pic and his tone rating different so much from Elegia/Clear I wonder if he got a dud unit, his tone AND technical performance ratings are crazy low and differ from basically everyone else, both DMS and even Zeos like it, and that never happens.. Not to mention resolve literally owns it, I am honestly going to consider the Elegia is top 5 under $500 uncrowned and for sure best closed back under $400 if not going near or even making it to top dog under $1k
