might be selling my mint sony z1r (20 hrs pink noise burn in)
for these elear....

I own both the Elear and Z1R. For my preference I listen more (and for longer) to the Z1R, but, I still appreciate what the Elear can do. Someone already mentioned the Elear will sound more energetic and I would second that. If the more relaxed sounding Z1R is not cutting it for you the Elear will be a nice change. On the plus side, they share the same connectors so if you had an upgraded cable it works on both.

If you get them below MSRP I don't think you will worry about the price to performance ratio after hearing them. I picked up my pair of through the Moon Audio pre-owned program and never looked back.

thanks to all who replied.....still considering them....or keeping my senn 650s (but admittedly when i listen to the senn 650s and then to the sonys i find a world
of difference: that ''sennheiser veil'' becomes more apparent....no wonder there are so many mods going on...

the cable that you´ve posted has in the mini jack two pin. the cable of my elear has only one. seems t me that the minijack of elear is equal to hifiman he-1000 and different compared to beyer cable
Elear will work with both TS plug (like stock) and TRS plug (like on the Beyer), both Elear and Beyer use 3.5mm plugs. The HE-1000 uses 2.5mm plugs so that won't fit.

I will have to test, but I listen at double green on my Mojo all the time. I get that most people don't listen loud, but for those of us who do it is important to understand if there are genuine design limitations so I thank you for testing and I will see if I can access that track on Tidal.

I too listen on double green on my Mojo, the Elears never popped.

Do you know of a good cheap balanced cable to go with the Elears? I'm in the cables don't make a difference camp (assuming the quality isn't terrible) so I'm not really interested in spending over $100 for cables. Thanks!

I bought one of these last week http://www.ebay.com/itm/Focal-Elear...Canare-Headphone-Cable-Balanced-/172727863595

The seller also customized the length for me, I wanted a 6ft length from the XLR to the splitter, for no additional charge.

Here's another cable for a similar price http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Dyson-A...R-MPH1000-SPOCC-Headphone-Cable-/112415758019

Several days a week I have the office to myself and thus the Elears come along to keep me company. Having been on my head since 10 this morning I want to reiterate the awesomeness of these 'phones!

They are heavier than the ol' SRH1540s, but the weight is so well distributed that they are genuinely comfy. Love the pairing with the Mojo, but later in the year thinking of grabbing an RME ADI-2 Pro for a home setup and leave the Mojo for work and (trans)portable duties.

If you could post some pictures I'd be very grateful.

They say silver is audibly brighter than copper, I don't know for sure but I did go with copper just in case. Take a look here --> https://www.head-fi.org/f/threads/audible-differences-in-copper-vs-silver-cables.42667/

Silver shouldn't be brighter. It should result in improved linearity. Copper rolls off a little sooner this may be why silver is interpreted as brighter. This isn't 100% true but a great rule of thumb. Part of the performance or result is geometry not just the metallurgy.

I was looking up replacement pads for the Elear and the only place I saw that had them was Moon Audio and they were a shocking $150 for just 2 pads. I don't need any at the moment but eventually I will so I was wondering what are some good alternative pads to use?
