How do the Elear compare to the HE-500 and the Mrspeakers Aeon?

I own the HE-500 and intrigued by the Aeon. With the HE-500, I love the vocal presence and speed, but I sometimes feel I'm missing the engagement of even something like the Phillips X2.

Can't compare to either, but I can tell you that there are very few headphones more engaging than the Elear.

From my memory, if you have the he-500, for me it's better compared to aeon that is ligthter, more comfortable and easy to drive

Also, comfort of the Elear has to beat the HE-500, right?

I wear 7 1/4-1/2 hat, and for me, the Elear is comfortable for hours.
I have a small head. The comfort issues of the HE-500 have more to do with the weight and how poorly it's distributed on the HE-500.

The weight is a non-issue for me; however, this is an issue for some. The Elear, for me, is very comfortable. Do you have access to an audio store where you could try them on? I did, so it was easy for me to actually try them, which obviously led to me buying them.

The Elear is a bit heavy at 450g, but it's very well distributed. Very good fit, very plush headband and the softest pads I've felt. The wheight of the headphones+the massive stock cable may cause some fatigue on the neck though.

Does anyone know of a retailer in Salt Lake City where I can demo an Elear?

I bought one of these last week http://www.ebay.com/itm/Focal-Elear...Canare-Headphone-Cable-Balanced-/172727863595

The seller also customized the length for me, I wanted a 6ft length from the XLR to the splitter, for no additional charge.

Here's another cable for a similar price http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Dyson-A...R-MPH1000-SPOCC-Headphone-Cable-/112415758019

More or less the same as the £15 cable I use with mine? The stock cable has been in the box ever since. A shame, really, as the quality of it is ace, just waaaaay too long (for me)!

what is the best reasonably priced replacement stock cable? this thing needs to go! Moon Audio's is ~$400USD or something...

The Elears are noticeably heavy, but the weight doesn't cause any discomfort for me. What does is that the ear cups are sprung which causes them to put pressure under my ears.
