Focal Clear headphones

How does the fostex hpa 4bl pair with the clears? I found one for 200 euros. Is it worth it? Is it loud enough? I like listening to rock, metal and EDM.
Or should I spend more and go for a questyle cma 400i?
Thanks

I will comment that my OTL Feliks Euforia pairs wonderfully with Clear. Focal used this pairing at their stand at CanJam London. The slight mid-bass boost really balances out the very slight brightness in the Clears to make them almost perfectly neutral, while also sufficiently detailed and gooey. I wouldn’t imagine all, or even most, OTLs pair as well with low-impedance cans.

That amp looks fantastic and surely sounds accordingly. Maybe one day I'll upgrade my CMA 400i. But now I can't stop using my Clears out of DX220 with AMP9 (Nutube), maybe I don't need a desktop amp...

This was me. The pads came out like new.
Of course you take the wool cycle, no tumbling, luke warm water, 30°C, 86 f.
Wool, No SPIN cycle? No detergent?

If you upgrade, consider the Questyle CMA 12.
I get the sweetest sound with this amp, the synergy between the Questyle 12 and the Clear is breathtaking.

How long battery time do you get with DX229 and the Focal Clear? And how high are you on the volume setting?

Never measured exactly but I think safely 6-7 hours. Actually AMP9 saves battery over AMP1 mk2. Volume high gain on Mango OS around 70 to 75, 78-82 very loud

Ear cup size?
What's the ear cup depth (in mm) of the Focal Clear?
I have the Sennheiser HD600 and it starts to get uncomfortable after 1-2 hrs due to my protruding ears touching the inside.

Thanks in advance.

It’s around 1 inch, maybe 1mm less, 24-25mm

Just measured now:
It is 29 mm in the center and 32 mm in the borders.
However when you wear them the pads may get a little compressed, so it may be shaved of maybe 1-2mm.
The compression clamp can be changed by manually forcing it in or out (but better not more than one or two times) .
When I received them brand new I though the clamp was not too high, as when I bent my head forwards they could slip a bit due to the weight. So I forced them in. Howver then I noticed that due to the higher clamp force they would get hotter, so I forced them out back to the original clamp force, and have been that way ever since.
It is also 60mm high and 47 mm wide.
My ears never touch the pads.
My issues with using the Clear for a long time is the heat and the weight.

So are these headphones better than elear, elex and elegia? I'm thinking of getting one of them. I like metal but also rock, classical and jazz. Not sure which to go for.
