Makes me wonder if it's tuned different to Mason FS or the next generation BCD is what's increasing bass performance.

Looks like a significantly more substantial BCD. Hard to know with UM though. Don't think anyone was expecting big changes with Indigo and it surprised but with the price increase people will be expecting it here I think.

No way. I wasn't a fan of the Mason FS tuning, I am intrigued why they claim its better for EDM because the Mason FS wasn't quite there for that type of music.

FE appears to be the Indigo styled version without First Times cable. Just different aesthetics. 20 pairs of each. Wonder what the mainstream unit will be with the new bcd.

I am SO down the rabbit hole of desktop... I must say I had my doubt about a desktop DAC especially since top DAPs bring desktop DAC level chips but call me a convert there is more to it... R2R + Tube is something else, such a vibrant, organic and lifelike portrayal of music... DCA Stealth reach heights that just blow me away... I am with a big grin on my face tonight... more to come with M9 probably which is gently burning in in the meantime... I feel privileged!

It's not stupid if people go for it... but I don't like it and won't go there.

Not that the total of what I am spending in a year will not exceed this by a mile (and then some) but there is fair and unfair pricing...

I crossposted this Hope no one minds. So as I said I ordered the Fourte Sight unseen. I was wondering if you folks think I would enjoy the sound of a SP2000T as much as the Amethyst I got. Or the Dave for that matter. I wanted to keep the rig small but it does not need to be tiny. The Amethyst is a rather good Dac/Amp but the Dave is better no doubt.
