Mason FS does her well I think. The Cambria Period, sounds epic on that set, probably would on Red as well they are very similar sounding.
I’ve no doubt that there are quite a number of IEMs that will be great for such songs. I mention Red and Jewel because that’s what I’ve heard so far haha

New UM IEM coming up. $8k for a universal and $9.6k(!!) for a custom. Looks like it is Mason Red Halo with a different shell and a different colored cable. From the diagram and the description of the cable, it looks identical spec wise. But of course, the tuning can be different.

Surprisingly same price as the Red Halo, but the custom version is getting real close to the $10k mark.

It hasn't been even 6 months since the release of Red Halo. I can't wait to see the prices for new UM flagships by the end of the year. Looks like we are well on the way of $10k+ IEMs.

It's a good deal with bundle Orpheus shielding cable which MSRP ~$7,000. apparently no
I thought they said RH was limited to 20? Guess they still had some spare drivers..

The FitEar DC Ti, an IEM you don’t read too much about outside of Asia. But excellent customs/universal. Dual DD and single EST. Paired with the FitEar 009 Aqua cable. Just arrived today. :)

Frankly, I’ve fallen off the UM bandwagon because of releases like this new 8-10K version. After I bought my Mason FS, within 4 months it went on sale for $4,800 and six months after release it dropped to 4K which is now the regular price. The timeline here is way too fast for such discounting on a flagship since those that bought the FS when it first came out—mine is #04–will take a big hit when it comes time to sell it.

This new price range is for those that can afford conspicuous consumption, that’s certainly not me these days with inflation as it is.

Indigo has been available indefinitely now it seems (I was wondering why it remained available new... forever)
MusicTeck site to no longer say (Limited to 200) Guess the limited value is no longer there, surprise consumers!

I completely agree with your sentiments. These IEM's used to be a sort of an investment to get at least 60-70% back at resale to keep the engine running, but UM is doing that loss for you and just automatically depreciating like a new car with release after release whenever the stupid branding name hits them.

Not motivated at all to see what else I can lose money dramatically on when they re-order, re-badge, and falsely limit supply on another unnecessary set. If they were supplanting flagships for a reason, fine. But colors, shell swaps, the cable they include, and one or 2 little tweaks on drivers is not new tech enough to keep releasing and depressing your most invested customers, it just dilutes your brand + Their marketing rubs me the wrong way.

I hope they change but right now they are Ultimate Money not Unique Melody.
