A wonderful read and so very relevant.

One suggestion I can add - having used the Azla for a long time - is to possibly try the Acoustune AET07 (if you haven’t already). Found them as comfy if not more than the Sedna, similar bass and body, and smoother treble.

It may help with the additional sparkle you mention - I also found the Sedna to have a slight sheen / shimmer in the treble hence the move to the AETs.
AET07 ftw! If only I could use them comfortably with Z1R 😔

I gave up on the Z1R. I get an OK fit with crystals, but it’s still hit or miss. I am now an ex owner… I liked them and would have kept them if it weren’t for the fit, but fortunately I have several great alternatives, so it’s not the end of the world…😊

Totally get it. I'm one of the lucky few. Wish that were the case with EXT too 😔

Such a common story with Z1R unfortunately. I really hope Sony are working on a revised Z1R with a more ergonomic shell for the many fans that couldn’t get the fit to work for them.

What is the best IEM with MMCX? I had my Leo II ConXed for the Z1R, but with that one gone the cable is looking for a new partner lol.. Or maybe it will simply go through life as a 2-pin.. :)

But since it is ConX, why not switch it to 2pin without forcing yourself into mmcx iem?

Sure, I said that myself lol.. Just wondering if there are any MMCX options out there, otherwise I did the ConX thing for nothing... 😊
Since Z1R is out, I vote IE900 if MMCX is a necessity.
Wasn't my cup of tea unfortunately, but thanks!

Edit: I believe even the Fir IEMs are 2-pin now. So no MMCX TOTL left it seems.

I would totally jump on this deal if I wouldn't have Mason FS already.
Similar signature to my ears.
