I’m in my 8th year of school, with 5-6 years of more training. I’m so poor.
Best of luck with it! It is a huge investment and I hope you will get a good return on it. Just don't forget to enjoy it as well.
Lemme guess, single DD?
Apparently not, on their Facebook Cayin says it is a four BA model called the YB04.

What? First IEM and it's not a single DD but 4BAs?

So shinyyyy

Would love to hear some impressions from you two! Not a very common cable on here...
In a couple of days most likely. The number of reviews for the No. 5 is indeed rather low. The fact that its in the vein of PW Audio's house sound made me go for it.

I've got an hour or 2 of listening in so far, I like it way more than the Aries II already. Definitely sounds more expensive than the price tag it has.

It's been paired with the Zeus beecause only silver is touching my Phantom. But so far the bass rumble is there, as is the sub bass extension. Havent ran into my treble and mid rich stuff yet.

Will be doing impressions on the Single Crystal Silver as well when it arrives. @Deezel177 did have good things to say about buried in a post somewhere on headfi

At the moment, I don't have the iem I intended to pair the no.5 with, but my impressions of the no.5 compared to the Ares ii+ is that sounds more melodic in the upper mids regions. Compared to my Hansound aegis, it sounds more melodic in general but less detailed sounding. It has less extension and upfront detail than the Plussound X8 GPH but that's to be expected.

anyone own ibasso gear? I just started using my dx150 with the amp 8 and it burns through battery really really fast and is hot basically all the time

Have the DX150 + AMP8 myself, definitely gets warm and I'm getting 7-8 ish hrs. Only annoying thing with battery is that it drains in "sleep mode" pretty dramatically still, if I leave it on over night it'll burn 12-15%

I thought the new Cayin was a bad idea...until I saw AK's latest idea. An even bigger and even uglier Kann :

Dislike A&K but dig the looks of new Kann Cube- it's like an all in one brutalist audio brick.
Only it seems kind of under-featured for the size...Cramming two of those desktop DACs & enough battery to run them for more than 30 minutes probably takes a lot of space but if already going to such an ungainly size for portability, might as well maximize I/O & functionality.

The app AutomateIt Pro works well if you fall asleep listening to music. You can set time triggers to turn Wifi on/off, definitely saves some battery

yeah, I noticed that too and began turning it off instead of just throwing it into my bag in sleep mode
