Question(s): how good / bad is the cable on the MKII? Compared to the MKI cable? Is it microphonic / does it harden / is it difficult to wear over-the-ear without ear guides?
I am keen on either this or the e-Q5 but am not sure the latter will fit well for me - however the complaints I've read about the cable seem rather worrisome.
Thanks!

Wow. What a fantastic pair of headphones.
I've been using these for a few days now. I found the treble a little harsh on some songs initially, but after about 20 hours of listening, it became a lot more relaxed. I'd really urge listeners to persevere past this out-of-the-box harshness, because it passes. I also recommend trying them with Etymotic gray triple-flanges (I'm using the short-stemmed ones that come with the ER-4). After a lot of experimentation, these are my preferred tips, and not because of isolation, but because of what they do to the sound signature. The tips that come with the DBA-02 all have wide openings and short shafts. The Ety tips have a narrower opening and a longer shaft. I prefer the latter by a huge margin. Cymbals sound more natural and there's less sibilance. I wish I could explain why this happens, and I can't. But if you're unhappy with how these sound, try Ety triple-flanges!
I've had a pretty miserable time trying various headphones and returning them, unsatisfied. Even though I think they are flawed, I've stuck with the Etymotic ER-4P. They were closest to what I'm looking for. The DBA-02s are a fuller, more out-of-your-head version of the ER-4P. They improve ever so slightly, but significantly, in the bass department. They also have a richer timbre when rendering things like guitars. I'm definitely keeping them.
Just got my pair of these puppies yesterday, and the accessories that came with mine are different from what I've read online in reviews. My set contained a straight plug to L-plug adapter, no translucent silicone tips, and no tip holder. Anybody else getting these accessories too?
It is an slightly revisited package, besides L-plug adapter it also have a cable cinch. Translucent silicone tips was not used by many (actually I do not know anyone using it them with DBA) so they was removed.
