Anyone got any info on project k? Sounds exciting

I had a listen for ~15mins, tbh for me it’s quite underwhelming. I don’t really know how to describe sound, but for me it sounds more like a bass-boosted “monitor” sounding iem, great sub and mid bass, impactful drums and instruments (distorted guitar). The vocals and the higher frequency instruments are really laid back. In my opinion, Project K feels more like a musician-targeted sound signature rather than to appeal mainstream audiophiles.

As for the specs, although Bogdan is also there, I have completely no idea. I asked the staff there, no one knew. From what I’ve seen, braided cable, 3.5mm, similar but rounder casing compared to the Frontier Series, the sound port for kinetic bass is there, not blocked.

Exploring my new Xe6, absolutely superb iem, heard plenty of totl stuff so far, this thing is unique and one of the few headphones including over ears that I really enjoy rock and metal with. Everything is just in the right place, its like a better tuned abyss 1266 tc, you can take with you anywhere. Surprisingly technical and revealing despite the heavy bass emphasis. The synergy with P6 Pro HK is great too. Love it.

Question regarding cables, currently using silver module with RN6 cable.

How do Code 24, Venom snd OTL compare to the RN6 cable on Xe6? Curious whst the upgrade path should be.

There is none. Focus on tips or commitment to a CIEM conversion.

My fit is great, i think I wouldn’t want to miss that gorgeous stainless steel shell with sapphire glas tbh. Difficult to imagine that there is no meaningful difference between those 4 cables?

Yes, of course there is a (huge?) difference between the cables. And yes, it's my subjective opinion.

The difference in the stock cable alone between 4w and 8w was pretty clear. I have the 8w right now. OTL is the best pairing I've heard (vs the stock cable 4w, I couldn't compare the 8w, unfortunately). I'm not a big fan of the Rn6 cable with the Xe6 as it loses its nature a bit.

My tip? Get OTL or the stock 8w (hier you can contact Jessica of Fir Audio).

the 2800 dollar cables here as if it were a 50 dollar lunch a bit strong.

I have an OTL, but I would say the maximum IF you find a used one at half price, only then buy the maximum. The new price for 1 meter of cable is insane... especially for a 5% improvement...

Sorry to disappoint you, as I didn’t think of asking this question at the time. The info of this project K is really scarce… I asked the staffs of the local dealer there, they don’t even know what type(s) of driver is even in there. I don’t think Bogdan disclosed much to the dealer personally. Maybe someone talked to Bogdan might know more, but that’s not me…

This is straight FiRe, their new faceplates also kick ass. I've already picked a design, now I'm patiently waiting for the nextest frontier of IEMs

I think most people trying the universal XE6 don’t think it’s a good iem, I don’t know if it’s a fit issue due to heavy shells and bad seal.

Now I have the XE6 as a custom that thing slaps veeery hard yet it still has crazy details, separation, and dynamics. I was wondering how even Crinacle gave it a D score it’s crazy to me. I went back to Mest2, GAEA and yet still XE6 has better technical performance

I think the only iems that I disagree with HBB rating are the underrating of the XE6 and overrating of the Scarlet mini. Other than that I think he’s legit as we have the same preference.

Yeah. I daily a custom Radon now and absolutely love it. I feel like the universal RN6 translates better to the custom sound vs the XE6.

I have other freinds with a custom XE6 that swear by it too, not sure what's up with that.

Well .... do I need an RN6 now ... No.

But I kinda want one with the uni face plate ..... as a side note does any one have both the U6T and the RN6.

They have very similar FR graphs, I have the NE4 and while I love it, I would like to have a more intimate vocal presentation from time to time.

I am hoping the something in Fir's line up checks that box, Kenetic bass is supper addictive IMO and I cant go back

As far as the XE6 goes, I think Code 24 would be a great fit out of the EA line-up. Ramps up what is already does well, making it more engaging and sparkly.

I would also recommend trying the Cleo II and Fusion 1, both I like but prefer the Fusion 1 for the XE6 out of the two if you don't go C24.
