Fir Audio Thread - Discussion and Impressions

Well .... do I need an RN6 now ... No.

But I kinda want one with the uni face plate ..... as a side note does any one have both the U6T and the RN6.

They have very similar FR graphs, I have the NE4 and while I love it, I would like to have a more intimate vocal presentation from time to time.

I am hoping the something in Fir's line up checks that box, Kenetic bass is supper addictive IMO and I cant go back
The KR5 is more intimate/in your face than the RN6, unless you exclusively use the silver module.

The black (more) and red (most) are fairly spacious but a step up regardless.

Silver and Gold are more bassy/more isolating with Gold the most closed in bassy.

Thanks, for the help.

I dont remember what module was used when I sat at the Fir table at Can Jam.

But I just checked my notes from listening to the Kr5 and that is pretty spot on, for the description, Hopefully I can find a shop that will let me demo them.

But that may be the next one for me, really really digging Fir's innovations.

Do I go and get my Rn6 with them metal shells? I like my current, but with the Obsidian faceplates 🤔

Wondering how those metals feels in cold weathers..
Definitely shouldn't be exposing sensitive, expensive equipment to temperature shocks and below freezing temps.

Did the KR5 have more bass than RN6? And does it render more details?

It's not more detailed, but its unique presentation might at first appear that way.

It appears to hit harder than the Rn6 but slightly, very slightly in the mid bass.

Probably something new from Fir… Project K, it’s gonna be in the upcoming HK AVShow.
I don’t think it’s a final product yet but for sure I’ll try it! It’s sad that I just sent my RN6 to refit, won’t be able to A/B test them…

edit1: the chinese said nothing about the iem itself, so no info at all.
