Finally!! The krypton is awesome. For now stock cable, but if I wanna upgrade without kill my wallet which cable recommend?
The cable that comes with the Radon is a wonderful upgrade… and a branded one at that. I’m unsure if they sell it? Of if it’s representative of the build your own custom cables they sell on their site? Anybody know?

From our understanding, Radon 6's pure silver cable with copper shielding is exclusive to Radon 6 and not available for purchase or as a BYO. More likely, they're limited for warranty replacement.

Ah. Shame, it's a gorgeous cable. I think maybe my favorite that I've ever gotten "gratis" as a bundle with an IEM... And I'm including the Stormbreaker in that list. Although truth the told, the EE cables are a little blingy for my taste, lol.

You could consider EA Signature or Eletech Virtues Series – all are under $300 for 4 and 8 wires. EA is currently running 10% off of all Signature through the month of June with an addition 5% off through June 11.

EA Signatures
Ares S, $179 or $279 - 4w or 8w, copper - https://www.head-fi.org/showcase/effect-audio-ares-s-8w.26216/
Cadmus S, $199 or $299 - 4w or 8w, silver plated copper - https://www.head-fi.org/showcase/effect-audio-cadmus-8w.26217/
Eros S, $299 - 8w, hybrid silver and copper - https://www.head-fi.org/showcase/effect-audio-eros-s.25916/

EA CODE23
$599 with TermX connects to $679 with Pentaconn OFC
16.5 AWG 2 wire with 13 Multi-sized copper core bundle with solid core design

Eletech Virtues
Azrael, $249 - 4w, copper
Cassiel, $299 - 4w, silver plated copper
Raphael, $499 - 4w, gold plater copper + gold copper alloy

I own all 7 cables (ET Raphael incoming) and depending on the sound signature you're looking for EA Cadmus S 8w and ET Cassiel are more balanced. EA Ares S 8w and ET Azrael are coppery warm with great technicals and details. Azrael has smoother treble response. I'm looking forward to ET's Raphael as it shares similarities to ET's well regarded Socrates for less: https://twister6.com/2023/05/25/eletech-raphael/

EA CODE23 while copper doesn't sound like copper and punches above its price point against many TOTL cables costing 2x to 4x as much:
https://www.head-fi.org/showcase/effect-audio-code-23.26351/

You could spend more but the latest from both EA and ET are some of the best under $700.

My personal FiR pairingsare:

XE6 + EA CODE 23 (huge 3d soundstage, technicals, W-sig) / EA Cleo II OCTA (better separation, texture, thins out full sig) / ET Ode to Laura (similar to Cleo II OCTA, with technicals, separation, thins full sig just a little, textural bass)

RN6 + FiR RN6 silver / EA Cleo II OCTA (similarities to RN6 exclusive silver with larger soundstage, depth, note texture and bass)

EDIT: Those prices are standard pricing. The sale prices are 10% and 15% off from those listed above, respectively.

Just ordered an Ares S 8w and the price was $237. Thanks EA!

A few notes on the Radon 6:

First off, hats off to FiR for the amazing customer experience. I love how personal they get (if you want something) for a custom piece.

The new cable is also fantastic. I hope they bring this in a less limited capacity, even if it's a similar version. I have not felt a need to cable roll at all these past two weeks.

Sound wise, it will be up your alley if you're looking for something that's a TOTL W-shaped experience with imaging and detail fit for the pricerange.

Thanks so much to the team!

Hi, I recently joined KR5 gang after saying bye with M5.

Is it only me who thinks KR5 is muffled without personal EQ? I blind bought reading KR5 is a specialist in highs with rather subbass focusing, but it doesn't sound like that to me.

To my ears, I need 250 and 125hz down (250down by 4db at least!!) and 2k and 4k hz section to be little upped for a convincing tonality. With this eqing, I would find KR5 to be an endgame iem though.

Does this mean that I might be listening to a faulty one?? 🫠
I’ve never understood the “I don’t EQ” crowd. I consider every headphone or IEM to represent a potential for great sound; how it sounds without EQ is almost irrelevant, compared with how it responds to EQ. The KR5 responds very well, indeed. Without EQ (parametric EQ, specifically)? Meh. I agree that it is end game with EQ.

Well, I don't know but I find that statement, well... Far different than my own statement 😅😉

Well if we are talking about unbalanced or typical products : right. It's a need.

If we are talking about natural balanced products : nope. It's no need.

And less is best. Always. Straight wire with gain.

If it's possible thus.

Easy. 😇👍

About Xe6 : typical, strongly colored. Kr5 : V shape, etc.

Like a lot the second one, for its own.

Please take into consideration a few things. First of all, we do hear things differently due to a personal preference or the choice of music as well as the source or even eartips, all of which could contribute to the description of the sound which going to vary from one user to the other. Then, we use different sources with different EQ implementations, either if it is audio playback app EQ or streaming app EQ, or non Android dap EQ, etc.

So, when you are sharing your sound impressions with others on Head-fi, or writing a review with a detailed sound description, it will be misleading to talk about, just making stuff up, the bass being balanced if you applied 6dB cut around 60Hz and someone who is allergic to low end getting that pair of IEMs only to discover that out of the box it sounds different

My point, the sound description without EQ is relevant and important, along with a comparison to other IEMs for the reference. And then it's cool to share about your EQ preference with a more detailed info of what you corrected to "fix" the sound :D

I know it's a bit off topic, but I was just discussing this with someone else. About to publish my next review, Final ZE8000 tws, and I had to apply the EQ in there. The cool thing about some of the tws, eq is dsp based and gets stored with earphones so they will sound almost the same and independent of the source.
