I let the battery drain to 0% (to the point that I can boot it but it automatically shuts down) and haven't had any problems with it.

I have just been advised by our local supplier than the shipment of X7 MkIIs has been held back because of a firmware issue that needs to be resolved first. Can @FiiO or @JamesFiiO provide any more information?

I have just spoken with their support team via live chat. The issue is with flashing the firmware onto the devices rather than an actual bug.

So what does that mean for markets waiting for shipments? Did they have any tentative timeline to address this issue?

They have halted shipments because it has basically stopped their manufacture process (the hardware is ready but they are having issues applying the firmware). I was quoted one week for them to resolve it, so if you you are in a region pending shipment, it will likely be around the end of the month before they arrive.

It's better they take time and release the device without any firmware issues. I really had a bad experience with X7 because of the firmware issues.
It's better to wait than getting frustrated.

If you have the AM3 - use that and grab a balanced cable for your HD650. It will put 11 Vp-p / 70 mW into a 300 ohm load - more than enough to drive the HD650. Its also linear rather than warm. But the AM3A included with the X7ii is almost the same (10 Vp-p and 63 mW into 300 ohm). It has lower overall current, but still more than enough to drive the HD650. But the AM3 (original) is the one to use if you are using balanced and full sized can like the HD650.
It makes sense but I will have to wait and test it for my self.

Can someone from FiiO please let us know what the new firmware issue is, please?

I already said there is no issue with the firmware itself. The issue is with the process of flashing it onto the newly produced devices.

Anyone knows if Fiio will make possible to change the font size to small?
Because for me, even the normal is way too big.

Dear friend,

Too big? We are sorry that we didn't add small for font for the X7MKII. Maybe you can try some font APP for help?

Best regards

Is the channel/polarity naming convention for the port different from that of the plug?
FiiO stated in this thread that the port configuration was L-L+R+R-
Yet their web site (http://m.fiio.net/en/products/58) states that pin configuration on their balanced cables is R-R+L+L-
Will someone please explain this difference?

Thanks... Brian

You can refer to our website. I was talking about this from right to left which leads a wrong understanding sorry.

Best regards

What filter mode do most of you use? I am using the hybid fast roll off. Wonder if Fiio could provide infor for those filter like x5. By listening to test track of cymbal, i notice that it sounds the best which is more real and natural. For curiosity, I test with different iems and headphone, I still prefer the hybid fast roll off filter mode.
