look, W40 - they play better on the Fiio X7.

I sold my W4R. Now, with the Dunu DN2000 I'm quite happy! They are an incredible pair! Next week I will receive the Pinnacle P1, after read some interesting reviews. In the end of the month or in the beginning of November I will receive my Mentor. I made an reshell. I'm so anxious!

 Dunu DN2000

they are much better than the 4R?
What difference you found?
I am a former user of 4R.

I don't know anyone with a PC anymore - I'd like to know you'll have this sorted out soon?

Really? A significant majority of computers on earth are still PC.

pet peeve:
PC = personal computer.
windows computer = windows computer
mac(intosh) = apple computer
linux pc = linux computer
(BSD and other systems not named, not named because it's of no use)

Anyway, now regarding (not)having access to a windows machine: @FiiO/@JamesFiiO, would it be possible to update via ADB? (Android Device Bridge)

If so, then flashing would be possible on all major systems, regardless of OS

Must be a graphic designer in a hipster town

Oh man you guessed it-

Did you have to look that up? Of course its true - but no one in my circle of designer hipster friends would be caught with one - yee!

So - My entire family and virtually all my friends over the years have switched over to Macs - and this is so hard to believe? geezuz

Guys please keep up the funny posts.

So far the switch is causing extremely slow transfer on USB now that my Mac is connected again to a 5.1 OS FiiO X7, so I would not go rushing in here either,

Maybe it has to build a cache, who knows, but what use too take 2 minutes to scan now says "8 hours"....

  Dear All,

Beta firmware version 3.0.2_beta for the X7(Android 5.1) now is available!

Looking forward to everyone's feedback.

FiiO, please note - 5.1 implementation is a big issue for OS X users. File transfer is non existent, and we are unable to copy ANY music to or from the device.

USB Mass Storage speed/function is a HUGE issue.

I am re flashing to 2.0

My post was in good humor. OS options exist for a reason. The main reason I'm on PC is for gaming.

Anyway, I think I may hold off a little longer on the new firmware. Im sure all the bugs will be ironed out soon enough

OffThread:

Quick question:

As a graphic designer, photoshop, Clip paint, Paint dot net, Gimp, Paint tool SAI, and other tools have proven to be very good for graphic design.

And the main tool - photoshop is really heavy, it can work slow on slow computers, and most MACs don't have the same hardware, most of times, so grapic design can be slower / less optimized on MAC.

Why is mac considered designer friendly, in general?  (Well, there is HAckintosh where you run mac on a good PC, which works much better if you need hardware, and there are ultra high end MACs, but they still don't use GTX 1080 to my knowledge)

OnThread:

I feel sorry for the lack of MAC support, but there's also the fact that China doesn't run on MAC. Neither does Romania for example, so we have very little support (or knowledge) of MACs.

We do Linux though, and VMs, and if mac does a virtual machine, the ISO for windows is just 4GB and it's free to use for many things!

Sorry for you and your friends, spending more money on a computer than you need to. For me a computer is a tool, and they all are essentially the same thing so I don't allow myself to be identified and validated by my operating system choice, frankly I couldn't care less, as long as they get the job done I'm happy. Macs are gorgeous, quality devices, but I'm not going to pay extra for those aspects of a computer, I just need it to do what it does and if it is a lumpy block of plastic who cares. I will guarantee you that if you had two graphic designers, equally skilled in every way, gave one a Mac and one a Windows PC, in Photoshop they would get the same work done at the same speed. Most people like the OS they first use which makes sense.

My brother will use both, he really respects the Mac OS, but for nuts and bolts business environments, not a chance.

Most of the people that I know in the graphic design world, photoshop, movie editing etc., seem to prefer Mac.

I grew up using dos (yes, I'm that old), to Windows, and only in my mid thirties did I start using a mac. I prefer Mac for almost everything. For my business I do some light pdf editing, creating fillable forms, etc. Editing pdfs on a Mac is very easy, just use preview. Adobe dc is basically same on both.

Gaming, big edge to Windows based computers.

Overall I prefer my macs, 10 years ago I wouldn't touch one.

I don't dislike it necessarily, but their hardware.

Where is da GTX 1080 for heavy duty graphic work?

And to be clear, trying to create and edit a 10K pixel x 10K pixel drawing is really better with strong hardware. - not necessarily against MAC, but again, install it on a strong hardware machine for full enjoyment.

Now their laptops and computers?... Well... I need 4 USBs at minimum, and I get a 6700K at 90C when working with image processing and compiling, so yeah... Same for GPU...
