  Hi,

this has been happening at mine end too, it was when I had some hidden files stored in the sd card by OS X.

Do a full directory listing of that directory - isn't it possible that there is something else (possible hidden file, or non music file) in that folder?

Cheers.

I love this site!  Thanks everybody for your useful feedback. OSiRiSsk (hope I spelt that right?!) was spot on. This was exactly my problem. It seems the X7 doesn't like the .* files that OSX creates.
Wow, I think I have a fully functional X7 at this stage. Thanks again folks! :)

Received the AM2.

Happy to report that it drives the 600 ohm DT880 perfectly. I have a new appreciation for the modular amplification design of the X7 - it's pretty great not having to stack devices together to get proper amplification from a DAP!

  Hey all,

Not sure if this is too off-topic, but I was recently able to take a tour of FiiO's factory. See the link below:

And yes, I actually did take some pictures of the X7 on the assembly floor.

Hopefully somebody finds this interesting!

It's not off thread at all!

Very cool!

I get the same problem too. I also find the default player very poor from a navigational perspective.

Try connecting your X7 to a Mac or Linux computer in USB mode and type this in one of your album folders:

ls -la

You'll probably see some additional junk there - files that look like .track_name or ._.track_name. This was my problem. After deleting all .* files, everything works fine. Navigation via folders now allows any listed track to play instantly.

Wanna know what beats the pants off rubber bands?

All this talk about modules -  the E12 was feeling lonely.
I thought a mini show & tell was in order.

I don't know if anyone is already doing this or even using the E12 for the X7
But this makes the perfect lounging around the house rig for me.

Snaps right in - 5 seconds or less to go from:

To this:

After trying the Am5 - I found larger fun factor here, plus battery life on both counts.
AND a volume knob!
Completely harmless double sided clear mount tape.

Very informative. Fascinating to see the meticulous processes at work.

Perhaps you had the privilege of seeing my incoming AM3 handcrafted?
