I will be honest with you, I have had all the FW updates, and 1.3 seems just as good as 1.1  To my ears I don't really descent a downgrade in the sound, still sounds pretty awesome to me. Although my ears might not be as capable of picking up the minute details, I didn't really notice a downgrade in FW 1.3 
 
So don't worry about it
 
According to others FiiO is making a case and Dignis will be making really nice leather cases for the X7 soon enough.

Tuff-luv.com has said they will have a leather case made for it in January

FiiO k5, companion desktop amp to X7 and anything else. But has a dock for the X7. No bass boost. I dont know how much it would cost in retail

I just F'ed up my X7's software trying to install GAPPS fortunately X7 has a normal recovery menu (hold Vol- while booting until the Welcome screen) so I was able to recover with simple factory reset from recovery menu.
 
PS. I recommend AirDroid - it allows you to transfer files and install APKs through web browser browser on your PC.

No phone company would do such a thing because there is no cellular network capability on the X7. This is strictly a music player.

Have now had my X7 for a few days and have upgraded from the original X5. I cannot access any of the support information on the Fiio website either through the X7, iPad or PC. Anyone else having this problem? If anyone has a working link to the X7 full user manual it would be really appreciated.

sorry , our website met some DDOS attack but it works now. here is the support link for X7 http://fiio.net/en/supports/37.  and sorry we have not detail user manual for X7 but we are working in a video manual for X7 and should be ready in the coming soon!

BTW, we have a new firmware under testing and should be release soon by OTA upgrading in this week, another new firmware should be released around X'mas.
