I use my Fiio X7 most of the time connected to the headphone amplifier Fiio K5. For this reason, the Fiio X7 is always charging the battery. (Fiio k5 is also a charger)

Is the fact that the battery of my Fiio X7 is always charging by Fiio K5  can shorten the battery life?

 Thanks a lot!

Dear Reboot
1. While the device is charging
Because the computer USB port has limited current capacity, the battery is given priority for part of the charging current while the rest powers the device directly.  But if the current draw by the device is high, the battery participates in powering the device as well.  Hence, both the battery and the USB port take part in powering the device while the device is charging.
2. After the battery is full
Because there is no need to charge the battery anymore, the USB port would power the device directly.  The battery would neither be charged nor discharged.
In summary of the above, the powering scheme of the X1/X3/X5/X7 ensures that the battery may be fully charged while at the same time guaranteeing proper function of the device.  Finally, the battery will be at rest after it is fully charged, thus guaranteeing extended battery life.
Best regards

I think FiiO was aware it was X7 so its only a "miss". X7 surely equals or exceeds battery/charging features compared with younger brothers.

Hi,

X7 battery is draining fast after 3.0.10 beta update. I think this is related with "media server"according with battery usage summary - this seems to be a common problem and many posts say to remove unwanted files from SD cards and rebooting, etc. since this process consumes a lot of processor power/battery in background indexing files for faster retrieval.

I saw a post from @FiiO-Shadow on their foruns saying this was to be fixed in a future update - anyone with the same problem and with some more info or a fix meanwhile?

Regards

battery does go faster but sound is better :)

Yes! I agree. If that is the trade, then FiiO keep battery drain as it is...

The lowest FW level I can live with is 3.0.10, a few bugs sure but still, better than FW2.0 overall, IMHO.

Dear users,
Thank you for your kind feedback. I forgot to add X7 in the reply before, sorry if bringing inconvenience to you.

Yes, we will try fix the battery life in late firmware update.

Which IEM do you guys recommend for our DAP?

I've tried the recently revered Ibasso IT03 but synergy with the x7 is not even on the average.

I'm looking for a triple driver IEM with a price nothing her than 300USD regardless if preowned or brand new.

My sound sig is neutral to a tad bit bright. X7 is currently on am1.

Finally, what's the sound sig of the x7 less the module?

Thanks.

The Dunu 2Kj sounds real good with this player. The sound sig should be right up your alley and in the price range you quoted.
