I was playing some Porcupine Tree last evening and paused the track. Today almost after 12 hours i woke up the device and pressed the play button and it resumed playback as it's supposed to do. FW 1.1.8 has been good for the users.

I've been using Fiio pure music for a week now on my new X5iii with FW 1.1.8 and have found that when I pause a song and manually put the X5iii to sleep by briefly hitting the power button, my X5iii will stay in position indefinitely. If I let it go to sleep on its own I may or may not come back to even the same song and one time the songs time indicator was stuck at the end of the song, requiring a long press of the power button to get it back going.
Besides this one small glitch this thing sounds amazing! Haven't even gotten around to using Neutron player I installed after FW upgrade.
Will report and ask our engineer to have a look in this issue.

Best regards

Due to file server upgrade, the prodcut firmware and drivers cannot be downloaded from our website right now.
You can find the firmware from this link instead(https://www.dropbox.com/sh/814qj3appotrudv/AAAQMDS1KB7UfQvRm9ERTPaia/X5III firmware FW1.1.8?dl=0)

I have been absent from this thread for a long time to wait for many firmware update to be released. Seems like 1.1.8 might be good enough to update. Thou I gotta say, there is way too many complain comments here. During the absent, I was kinda putting it up for sale that IF is were to sold it, I will invest in some other dap to fund this hobby. But it seems even thou I putting it half the price with warranty and like new condition, I received around 12 offers or so but all cancelled after reading this thread scared of all the issue mentioned. Ah well, might as well keep it. Since the sound is quite good for the price after exchanging the unit with faulty amp section.

If I connected to the headphone out, hear click noise between tracks on the LR channel.
If I connected to a portable amplifier through the line out, hear click noise between tracks on the only L channel.
Also, these click noise may not occur.
This click noise exists from earlier versions. It improved slightly in 1.1.8, but it is not perfect.

I don't care much about this problem.
If you want to fix it, it is best to email to FiiO Support.

There is a known feature if the files change sample rate, i.e. if you go from a 44.1Khz file to a 48Khz file then the X5 will switch between the super accucate clocks but to do that the DAC must be reset and this reset can cause a slight noise, normally more on one channel. Digital out or files with all the same sample rate shouldn't be affected though, probably. :)

I'm running in to some issues this AM. for the first time, I'm trying to use the Coax-out into a Maverick Audio D1 DAC. No sound at all. when I swap out the FIIO for the iBasso, sound comes through fine.

Anyone else having issues with this?

Also, since upgrading the firmware a few weeks ago, I've experienced several crashes, and now when I try to manually scan the SD cards, the Scan screen appears, but no progress and the OKAY button does not respond. I have to reboot to cancel the operation.

Fun times!!!!

is that a software issue or hardware, as my other daps don't do that

Guess it depends if your other DAPS are using multiple clock chips to improve sound quality or not and if the DACs they use require to be reset when changing clocks.
My guess is they might be able to mute the amps to mask it but that would make gapless more gapy.

I think it has been tweeked a little over previous releases, I'm rarely in a quiet place with sensitive enough headphones to here it and yet to plug it into an amp/speaker setup.
