bug or feature?
The hardware keys play/pause, prev and next and also volume up/down only working if I set them on in the key-lock settings, custom lockscreen setting. If they are set to off, they have no function even in the normal screen. But I want to have the keys not working only in the lockscreen mode.
 
Have anybody else this behaviour?

  I have one album that I can not play in the Fiio music app.  It locks the entire app up and I have to go into settings -> apps and force stop it to get it back.  It's John Coltrane Blue Train in 24/192 FLAC.  Anyone else having similar issues?  It works fine in Poweramp.

  Actually, if @FiiO can make it where we double tap the screen to wake it up would be nice.   The feature is on my v10 and i love it.

 

  I wrote to FiiO to introduce a doubletap. Maybe they will consider this.

  There is a way in the Fiio music app to use the tag "album artist" instead of "artist" ?
I have some compilations and it's quite annoying to have a lot of artist with just one track.

It's very straight forward and easy to reproduce. Turn off any of the buttons or volume in the custom key lock screen menu and then try to use those same buttons or volume with the screen turned on and they will not work. The custom key lockscreen buttons should only be in effect when the screen is off, not when it is on.

This used to work properly in FW 1.1.1 if I recall correctly.

I have the same problem.Since this morning my player is unusable: Every time i try to use the fiio player it crashes and stops completely to work after about 1 song.
 
On the screen shows the message  "Fiio Music isnt' responding - Do you want to close it?" then i close and try again to oper the app but nothing: it continues to crash.
 
In addition, if i try to reboot the player, the reboot Windows remains on for several minutes (also 1/2 hour!!!) and i am obliged to keep the on/off button for 10 seconds to restart the player.
 
Please, help me! It's not normal for a 449 € player: my smarthphone reads better my micro sd card without issues!

Sorry to hear about that. Please try to clear the data of FiiO Music from Settings(Android)--Apps--All--FiiO Music--Clear data to see whether it helps?

  Mine is playing fine, the only weird issue is when the screen is off and I pause the music, if someone talks to me and if it more than a few minutes I then press play and turn on screen it is playing a different album.

  I had an issue with the last firmware.
In some albums (internal memory), switching the screen off makes the player skip to the next album. It didn't happen with the previous firmware.
If only happens when you turn the screen off tourself, not when letting the DAP do it.

Are you talking about the 3 dots in the top right corner? You can click it for advanced settings for the Wifi. Or if there are somewhere else you are having the question?

I think I cured the issue by turning on by turning on "resume - last position"

  Since mounting and scanning files is quite fast, I tend to remove the cards during updates, since it can make the player quite buggy.
 
I have been playing a bit with the Viper modules, and to be fair, their FireEQ is far better than stock EQ, mainly because despite the similarities, Viper's EQ has arrows to set up bands accurately.
FiiO EQ is a nightmare of imprecision due to the slider-only design...
I had to slightly elevate bass/sub-bass to get closer to Cayin N5 signature, since the base signature is a bit bass-light for my taste. Other DAPs using AKM4490 usually are warmer than the X5-iii, but this is a matter of taste in the end.
 
Another thing: the slider to navigate within a song is still buggy with the last firmware: before, you could only go forward, now you can TRY to go backwards, but it stops playing when you do this.
Also, it would be nice to make this slider thicker, it is hard to target with large fingers.
 
Last issue: I wanted to try connecting the DAP to my Mojo. Connected with a jack cable in Line/Coax input of the X5-iii. The DAP detected the connection, but I got no detection and no sound on the Mojo side. Connection with USB cable worked but with a lot of cracking noise during music playback.

1. You are required to slide the bigger progress bar to fast forward/rewind but not the thinner one. Does the issue happen still? 

2. Are you using a correct coaxial adapter but the collection via mojo fails still? The port collecting the coaxial port of X5III is TRRS. And you need to switch the output to coaxial in X5III first.  USB Audio function of X5III currently is only compatible with some devices. We're still improving this function.

  So I reset my librarry after updating to new fw.
Re scanned and boom only 3 files not scanned. 
1 of which is a DSF file.
 
Glad Fiio added Recently Added list on the app. Its a long awaited feature for me! 
@FiiO could you give us a option to select time frame for the recently added? Example, week or month etc?

Change System Font Size to “small”
 
Ok, display menu setting only allow “normal” and “big” size font, but If you are young (not like me) and want to see more info in the X5 screen... there is a hidden “small” font setting…
 
You need the “Hidden Android Settings” App, from Google Play. It's an app that shows some hidden settings.

Then, look for “Display” option, and choose “small”. Thats all
