For the usb audio function, our engineer are always keep improving it. However, the usb audio function involve the multi-layer protocol in the audio architecture. Also, in order to be compatible with different DAC devices in the market, we need to test this function in many different devices which is no an easy job.
Actually, a beta version has came up. But the indexes failed to satisfy us and meet our expection. So we won't release it and need to do more tests first.
Besides , X5III is an Android based device which allow users to install kinds of third party APPs. Currently, You Can still use some third party APP (such as Hiby music)to get the usb audio function work.
Please accept our sincere apology For bringing inconvenience to you. In a word, we won't give up the USB audio function and will try our best to realize it soon.

I tried using it with UAPP a couple weeks ago and the issue with OTG was still there even though they use their own custom driver. If you guys have a Beta version that works with the Chord dacs I would love to test it out and provide any feedback.

Also, is there any potential fix to the Spotify app from your app store?

It's such a drag redownloading 700 songs from two playlists every week or so just because the app deletes the cache but leaves the songs stored and hidden on the x5. I really wish I didn't have to do a factory reset all the time..

Other than that the x5 sounds great on its own and when used as a source.

Any possibility to have music organize like genre > artist >album on the fiio music? I don't kwnow why this isn't already done by the dev, is much better like this

I still have crash issue with neutron who stop without error and stop the music playing

Not a big deal, and probably has been reported already. I am on latest firmware and notice that when using fiio app in pure music mode i get Chinese characters when i add a song to favorites. again not a big deal.

Please also add "jump to folder" of the current playing track.
A lot of users only use folder based navigation. I never scanned or use media library. I only rely on folders to organize and play my music. Please give more attention to folders.
Also folder navigation should remember last navigated position when switching between Now Playing screen and Navigation screen. Every music app has this basic feature...

The images in the Artist sort are now correct and the correct song counts are shown under each artist. There are still fairly serious deficiencies in sorting. For example, I see the following under my artist list: ( I wish articles like "The" were ignored)

The Jimi Hendrix Experience
The Melodians
The Maytals
The Joe Harriott Quintet
The Plastic Ono Band
The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion

Album sort still groups all albums with the same name together. For example, under the album “Red” the following artists are grouped together:

King Crimson
Taylor Swift
Black Uhuru


I would note that I have two SD cards in use – one 400gb and the other 256gb - approximately 65k titles. Most files are mp3 but I am starting to convert titles to FLAC many of which are high def. I have not noticed much difference (if any ) in performance as I have been adding titles and switching to lossless and hi def files. The only functional area in which speed remains at a very poor level is the search function. At least for me it is so slow I don’t bother using it.

I have notice the Chinese character issue pop up on occasion. I was thinking this happened when using Portuguese language for titles. I just checked and can't see any Chinese characters, although I am not positive I have identified the problem correctly.

I think the ability to sort by “Album Artist” and the lack of replay gain are sorely missed. In addition the ability to read multiple tags – especially in the Genre category but also in Artist category would be a stellar improvement.

Thanks for the kind feedback. We will report to our engineers about the issue you mentioned. For the problem with poping up Chinese character, if you are convenient, please provide us the correct characters as well.
For the albums with same name, they would be sorted in same group. If it is sorted according to the artist, the sorting for same album with different artists would not be correct instead. You can added some number in the album name to avoid this maybe.
Currently, we have not added 'album artist' and replay gain. But we will still try to realize in the later update.

flashed latest firmware but still getting the annoying bug.
Its not as often as before but still on fiio app and neutron if you use hardware buttons to skip tracks it will close the app without error or message.
used to happen like every 3-4 skips before but now happens less frequently.

I'm still having the offline Tidal issue whereby it will glitch after about 4/5 songs - restarting the song cures it and it plays cleanly for about another 4/5 before doing it again. I have noticed that it doesn't happen with bluetooth headphones - only cabled or coax to an external DAC.

Anyone else?

Even if the V20 has since dropped down in price since its release, so has the X5-III. Comparing a $700-800 device with one half as much, while calling the latter overpriced junk, is a little silly. I wouldn't praise my X5-III as perfect and most posts lately are hardly praising the device. You seem a little hurt that someone that isn't you is enjoying something you didn't. For every vocal post that's negative that means a hundred people had no issues.

I've been happy as of late using a mix of listening to foobar2000 (it might downsample but it doesn't butcher playback of higher resolution files like PowerAmp did for me) and FiiO music along with my E12A.

Had an amazing session with my friend across the country (who listens on a Pioneer XDP-300R balanced connection to HD700) just a few nights ago, and I don't feel like I'm being left in the dust sonically.
