Can anyone please do review on comparison between Fiio x7 ii and Chord mojo? I’m still having dilemma on both of them. Now I’ve tested chord mojo and it’s slightly too warm for me. But soundstage and instruments are lit. How about fiio x7 ii? It’s really awful that I couldn’t test out fiio x7 ii at my place. :frowning2:

Sorting out album art can be a fun and tedious process. i have found MusicBee to be great with finding album art among other very powerful tagging tools. The album art on the X5 III really shines on the lockscreen.

The only piece of software I use is dBpoweramp as it does everything, it rips CDs, converts music files, edits tags and finds album art.

I had some speed problems with a 128 GB class 10 SD card formated as extFAT, that I previously used in HTC 10.
When connected by X5 USB the transfer speed to the card was veery slow: 200 - 600 Kbps :frowning2:
I reformatted the card inside the player to FAT32 but initially the speeds were the same...
After I used a card reader to copy some 60 GB files (with 20.000 Kbps speed), I tried to copy again with the card in the player. The speed rose from 600 to 3.000 Kbps.
Then I tried the second card tray to see how it works. To my surprise the speed in the 2nd tray is much better: 10.000 Kbps.
@FiiO
Why is this difference between tray 1 and 2: 3.000 vs 10.000 Kbps ?

My touch screen doessss nottttt responseeeee
Sorry to hear about that. Can you still restart or do a factory restore for your X5III to see if it helps? Do you have an OTG cable so you may collect the mouse to it and do a factory restore?
Best regards

Why the USB transfer speed is different for the card slot 1 and card slot 2 on the X5 3rd gen?
A: Since the number of the general communication pins on the RK3188 is limited, the X5 can only load two communication modules. One of them is already taken by the WiFi/Bluetooth, so only one pin is left for the card slot, which is also why there's only one card slot on the X7 or other similar products.
However, in order to keep the dual card slot design of the X5 series, our engineers have managed to expand the card slot interface by adding a new chip. And because of this new chip, the card slot 2 can get higher USB transfer speed than the other one. But it also comes with some small issues such as increasing the power consumption or some software bugs associated with it (most of the software bugs have already been fixed with the latest firmware update).
Best regards

Doubt on USB audio.
Connected to my dac/amp, I realize that the volume control wheel is active. Is it normal ?
Acting as a transport it shouldn' t be inactive ?
We are sorry that the USB audio function is still being improving. So the output may not be correct.
Best regards

Yes, I also noticed some problems with a single SD card inserted in slot 2 - after some idle time or using as USB DAC, the card gets unmounted, and it doesn't work anymore until device restarted. I don't know if this happens as well with cards in both slots.
So I moved the card to slot 1 again.

I got a 400 gb micro SD. It definitely doesn't work well with the x5 iii, which is a massive disappointment. I installed it and loaded all of my songs fine and it can read them, but it keeps cutting out about 1/3 of the way through playing any song, regardless of if it's on the 400gb sd or the 250gb one. Not sure why this is, but the player never did that until I put the 400gb sd in, so I assume that is the cause. It could just be the Fiio music player (which is generally awful), so I might try using a different music app and see what happens.

But for now, don't waste the money.
