For anyone with minor bugs, try (after the update) factory resetting. You’ll need to reload some of your config (wireless etc) afterward, but it can often clear odd bugs which are the result of old config files for the old fw.

Completely agree. You also get conflicts intentional or not from other apps, malware, etc. I recently did a complete reinstall and don't have the problems often mentioned.

No probs - just passing on the info I get from Sunny and Shadow. When I'm testing fw releases, they get me to do this each time. Just means you can nail down real bugs just pertaining to the release. Would suggest everyone do it when a release hits.

I use external playlists (never internal using the app to build), so I'm not really sure (mine are on the card, so I never lose them). Can anyone else who's done a reset advise Photoman please?

Don't use playlists, but why not just back up the files to SD card or computer?

Now if I ever get the thing down.

I know there was talk about this much earlier in the thread, but the download speed is back to below crappy. 66 to 160 KB/s
They did something about their bandwidth and I was getting 2 MB/s for a couple of these. Under 5 minutes for the download. This is going to take close to 45 minutes and 12% of the battery. Last update was about the same.
I have a 50 Mb/s pipe here too.

Next time I will have to just download it and do it locally.
I am so darn impatient...

At first glance I thought, sort is fixed. Then I happened upon Michael coming after Mickey. . . stopped looking. How does that happen? This is in Artist Mode.

Looks like different units have different issues... I am not facing any of the issues being discussed in this forum. I have a fairly small collection of around 40gb. Only issue is usb digital out which is non functional even in 1.1.8 fw version.... not a show stopper for me...

yesterday, I got my SanDisk 400GB miscroSDcard.
I copied 335GB of Music on the PC and then inserted it in Slot 1.
It works in FiiO X5 3rd without an issue ...
Will play a few days with it and report, when something unexpected shows up ...

After some more time to play with, I need to add, that there are issues, when you're not patient enough. My standard way to play music is with folders. I have around 5'000 albums and play them usually in the folder mode. That works like a charm ...
But, if you like to shuffle or search for a specific title, you're in trouble. I guess, the processor of FiiO X5 is simple not performant enough to do this tasks in a way, that it is useful. The initial scan in FiiO Player took about 10 minutes, PowerAmp roughly half an hour.

So, if you want to use seamlessly all functions when playing music, the 400GB microSDcard is not the right storage solution.

For me it works, I can go to an artist folder, chose the album and play it ... That's how I use FiiO X5 ...

Thanks for the feedback. Yes, we did update the bandwidth so it should not be that speed. If you don't mind, please try to download the firmware from Technical support--FiiO's offical-FiiO release... directly to see how long it is? We want to confirm the issue about that as well.
