Dear friend,

Sorry that because of the strict customs and safety checking here, we could not arrange the pure battery to other countries.
You may check whether this battery shared by other users help instead: https://www.head-fi.org/threads/fii...dual-card-slot.828402/page-1043#post-15719619

Best regards

Having the android tool open while you try is a good method, to at least see when the device becomes visible to the tool. When connecting to usb while holding back button, it should become visible to the tool (but NOT windows in any meaningful way except for connection chime).

I have never used the "reboot to bootloader" option from stock recovery as a means to reliably enter it.

I would see if "enable USB debugging" is enabled under your x5iii's developer options. (This might help, might not, I'm not at home to test right this moment)
Unfortunately usb debugging enabling doesn't help, i am afraid my X5 iii is permanently broken.

I have uninstalled by accident all google services and all players.

It only works as a usb dac now unfortunately.

The volume controller does not work properly, and the volume becomes louder even when moved slowly.
Mine does exactly the same, move it even one click and it goes an some random cycle of rapid volume changes. I'm sure it happened immediately after one of the OS updates but can't remember which.
I've been using the sound menu to change volume ever since.

Dear friend,

If the issue still remains, it may be a hardware issue with the decoder.
If you are using the Android version FiiO Music app, you could adjust the volume in the now playing page by sliding up from the right edge for help still.
And if you would like to repair the X5III, you could try to contact the seller or support@fiio.com for help.

Best regards

Dumb question. My X5III has the most recent firmware but just realized that I'm still using Fiio Music 1.1.3. I see that the player is showing an update available to 1.1.9 I don't know if that's the latest version.

At any rate, I only use the player to play music off of the MicroSD card (and sometimes to connect coaxial out to a desktop DAC). Do I have anything to gain by updating the Fiio Music app? If so, what is the latest version?

Thanks

Version 3.0.7 is the latest version, afaik.
Link to download

FiiO doesn't have a cumulative changelog detailing every change in all the versions. (This would be a useful thing to have on hand @FiiO !)

Installed. Nicer interface with some features that I'll never use. A bit more lag but not a big deal. It's fine.

Thanks
Now 3.0.8 is the latest version >_> (the timing!!)
Can’t say it will be any more/less laggy. PowerAmp and Neutron are far more stable 3rd party options.

You can still search the web for “FiiO Music App X Players” to find older versions that aren’t as unwieldy on the X5iii.

In a roundabout way you certainly can. By default FiiO Music is not able to be uninstalled; it is seen as a system app and not a user app. But by going to settings, then about device, and tap multiple times on kernel version, it should then show a message about FiiO Music being uninstalled. (You could then reinstall the apk for x series DAPs afterwards).

With root access you could use a file manager to copy the following folder: /data/data/com.fiio.music/databases
Use a tool (requires root) such as titanium backup to just uninstall FiiO music cleanly.
Replace that folder to its proper location after reinstalling the app, and you should be able to skip the lengthy step of rescanning your entire library.

I meant not as simple as just dropping an apk of an old version on the player and reverting back that way. I knew it can be done in a more complex way. But the kernel tap thing isnt very complicated. I can do that and then just install whatever old version I prefer? No chance of bricking the player?

Thanks

I have a Fiio X5III, fw v1.2.5 and I can no longer open the Fiio Market app, but I don't know how to fix the problem because the error page is in Chinese. Is there a fix for this problem?
The FiiO Market app is essentially a splash page to download a handful of application apk's. On my device is it among many junk/bloat apps to get removed out of the gate. (It's completely superfluous and unnecessary). You can still get applications with Google Play Store, your device's web browser or by transferring apk's downloaded from your computer.
