Hello .. I have a new X5 II A few days ago..all Well, but the version of Update of A version 2.1 I stopped reading DSD Files (dff.dsf.etc) .. They tried to do everything possible to solve it. . Changes to Other firmware But nothing works..IWill be a codec problem ?? I hope for your help since I can only listen to Flac .. thanks
Dear friend,

Please try to do a factory restore to see whether it helps? Those DSD files can be played in the X5II before? And which output you are selecting?

Best regards

Is anyone else having problems using the Fiio X5II as USB DAC on Mac Sierra 10.12.5?
I can't pass from 44.1kHz/24bit. :frowning2:

Dear friend,

Do you mean the display of the X5II shows as 44.1kHz/24bit? Are you selecting the ASIO output mode in the player of your MAC?

Besides, the X5II always shows the output bit depth as 24bits, even when the song itself is 16 bit. This is because the data is padded to 24bits before sending to the internal DAC and is a known issue.

Best regards

Yes, it shows 44.1kHz instead of 192kHz. :frowning2:
The problem is when playing on iTunes (Mac) or Foobar2000 (Windows 7 on Parallels).
But the problem only appeared when I updated to OSX Sierra.

That was it! :)

Thanks!!! That's the setting I was looking for..
Cool beans. Not to be a stickler, but are you switching those settings when you play something 44.1? I have not looked at it in a while but I don't think mac handles different sample rates dynamically, so to be bit perfect you have to manually change the midi settings per the sample rate of the file or else get a player software solution. Maybe it doesn't matter, I have never deep dove into the issue; I am just pointing it out for theoretical thrills.

Ok, tried everything again, single file, single album, different files etc., still doesn't work. However, now it doesn't show the list of files anymore, instead whenever I try to use Browse files or Play by category it shows:

Load fail
Please load again

Anyone else seen that error message? Any ideas what it means? I tried to reinsert cards, restart etc., to no avail.

Thanks![/QUOTE

I had this same problem today, and I tried all the things Fiio and others suggested, without luck. Then I decided to try repeating the process of taking both cards out and updating the library. I did that four times in a row, and then the "load Fail" message went away and it worked fine.

Does anyone know with the coax/line out port, if you set it as line out, does it stay there until you change it, or do you have to switch that setting everytime you plug in to that port?

I dont have the dap yet, so i am wondering how this works/behaves.

Do you mean switch between coax & line out; that is a setting that stays the same until you change it again.

Yes, thats exactly what I mean. If it will stay in line out mode, that would be perfect! I go between iems from the headphone out, to plugging in to my stereo in my car through line out and would love not to have to go into the settings menu everytime i get in my car.

With the fantastic deals of late on the X5ii I recently upgraded from the original and so far I am loving this player. But, one of the features I was really excited about, the deep sleep, doesn't seem to be working for me.

Correct me if I'm wrong but all I should have to do is pause song, let it go to sleep after 5 minutes, and it should use next to no battery until I wake it back up with the power button. What I'm actually finding is if I let the player go to sleep vs powering it down, the battery runs down like it would under normal usage, so it doesn't seem to be sleeping at all.

Am I missing a step?

You need to have the Idle Standby turned on in the system settings and then set the amount of time before it goes in to standby.

I do have idle standby set to on with the timer set to 5 minutes.

Yesterday it showed around 2/3 battery, I paused a song and left the player for probably ~5 hours. When I came back and hit the power button to wake it up it showed low battery and did a force shutdown.

So there are no other settings aside from those two that would affect the deep sleep mode? I did do a reset factory settings after the firmware update but I'll try toggling the idle standby again to see if that takes care of the issue.
