I think the biggest thing the AK jr brings to the table is the form factor and UI. Worth 500 bucks? Not a chance in my book, not when the FiiO DAPs offer so much hardware under that price point. I can see how people would value the navigation and form factor, just not at that price for me.

Agree with you. Fiio products really does pack a punch at its price point. AK products are costly. I would dare say even the DX90 can reach on par head to head with AK100ii and the DX100 puts the AK100ii down in terms of SQ. The X5 is very capable too! :)

I just ordered an X3ii!
I'm guessing at about twice the price...what are you guys most excited for with the X5ii over the X3ii?
The double capacity is huge, for me.
It seems like they're really paying attention to the amp function. Right now, looking at getting an external amp for the X3ii, puts the combine price within shooting range of the X5ii. I may return the X3ii and hope that all they're hoping to achieve with the amp pans out. 14 Vp-p is nice.

I wonder if i will be able to sell my perfect condition x5 for around 300 so that i do not take a hit trying to get x5K...

Personally... I'll keep my month old X5. I'll use it to hook up to my home stereo system to replace my beloved Zune 120GB (R.I.P.). And travel with the X5K (or X5ii, whatever the official nomenclature will be). Or visa versa. On way or the other, I'll have my entire music collection available to me at anytime, at home, or traveling, with room to grow and expand (on sound quality).

From this and other pictures posted in this thread, it appears that the X5k (or X5ii, whatever the correct model designation is?). Will the new model require a new stacking kit with the, say the, E12A? Or, hopefully (?) will the current HS6 stacking kit work?

It "appears" that the new X5ii (X5K, or whatever) is slightly smaller than the X5. Is this correct?
